Back in my office downtown, but secretly, got off more done at home yesterday that actually put me ahead of the week and will allow my to reach my monthly expectations of myself ahead of time. This morning I was getting out of my car and there is a lady the does tours of the historic downtown Memphis and especially the world renowned Beale Street Home of The Blues. As I was getting out of my vehicle, she was giving a tour to about 15 ladies and she noticed me and she said the the ladies , “ I want to introduce you to the most best dressed gentleman in downtown Memphis.” She asked me to come over and I was not just overwhelmed with her words, but also from the ladies that were present who continually gave me compliments and asked to take pictures with them and several mentioned they wished their husbands and boyfriends would dressed like me. Gentleman, I say this not to boast, but to encourage you that people do notice you and you would be surprised how refreshing you are to them because of what they see, deal with , and in some cases live with on a daily basis.

Welcome to the "Dog Days of Summer"! For a lot of people it can put people in a sour mood. It's too hot, it's too hot to do this or that. Tempers get a bit flared. The same can happen in the winter to people as well. I just thought I'd share my personal journey through these types of days. I just left my primary care physician for my 3 month look over with Blood work, weight etc. All came out great. That isn't the point of this post. My doctor asked me a question: What else is going on in your life that you might want to discuss? I responded, I am Truly Blessed. So if my blood work and all of the things that pertain to my health (other than Mental) are in good shape, I am Perfect! He then said I love your attitude! He asked if I had a secret? I told him Every morning and every night, and sporadically throughout the day I stop and take a mental look around and count my blessings! I have my health, I have my family and their health, I have a roof over my head and I am able to feed myself and my family. What more do I need? This is what I consider "Smelling the roses". There will always be someone with "More" there will always be someone with "Less". But I am content! I still have an amazing drive to work and lead and guide my people everyday, but I am also content where my life has taken me and blessed to be around everyone in my daily life.
