Hard one for me. When a person speaks , a gentleman listens not just to respond but to understand and acknowledge the feelings shared. Then the person speaking feels heard and not processed or manage. The speaker will feel valued. And in turn would be receptive to the gentleman's reply or response.

Lesson for me, not to hijack the conversation with a sentence starting with an I....
