ROADMAP consideration - 'delay' setting on ordering prints
I made a really stupid mistake as a result of rushing, trying to use my phone and being distracted whilst doing it... I needed to order another set of prints for a customer and I ordered the wrong size in my haste. Fuming from my stupidity, this is when I remembered a process which would have allowed me to reverse this and not lose out on paying for a set of prints the customer didn't want.
With a different print company I use (for a different type of product, although they do print POD posters) they have a configuration setting against a users profile (in account settings) which allows the user to set a time delay after an order has been 'accepted' before it is pushed to the printing house production queue and then deemed in a 'non-cancellation' state. Here, it would be an intermediary layer between us as the sellers and PS processing the order ready for them to send to the print house.
This helps at a minimum in two ways: First it allows the seller to cancel or change the order should an issue have been noticed, then resubmit; Secondly, it allows for a time period where the customer may contact the seller with a question after having made a purchase, and if that results in a change to the order, then that is still possible without the seller losing out.
Those settings on the users account are similar to: Set a delay of "2 hours", "No delay - process immediately", "Permanent delay - requires user to manually submit to production".
I would have benefited from being able to set my overall delay to '2 hours' since I caught my issue the minute the payment processed on PS. I could have cancelled the order and resubmitted the correct one. It would also reduce any potential 'Cases' that are raised to the PS team, reducing effort on their side.
