Some thoughts on the matter:
While discipline is often born from the mind, devotion comes from the soul.
Discipline is the act of shaping ourselves into who we should be; devotion is the surrender to who we are meant to be. Discipline is a force that sometimes feels like pushing against the tide; devotion is the current that carries us gently forward, without resistance, without effort.
Yet, both are necessary.
Discipline is the anchor, steady and unmoving, when the world feels chaotic. Devotion is the wind in our sails, lifting us toward places we could never reach on sheer will alone.
Discipline ensures we don’t lose our way in the labyrinth of distractions, while devotion fills the path with meaning, with purpose, with a light that makes every step feel worth the journey.
Without discipline, devotion might fade into dream; without devotion, discipline becomes dry and lifeless.
The dance between the two is where true growth lies—not in the coldness of duty or the recklessness of passion alone, but in the harmony they create together.
How does the balance between discipline and devotion influence your YN practice, or just your life in general,
I wonder? Please share 🤍
