Trade Management is important. Here's how.
Most people focus on getting into a stock at the cheapest price. They forget to manage their trades (sometimes even forgetting to exit).
Entering into a stock at a good price is only the first step.
Trade management helps you reduce your loss and also double your profit.
For example:
You enter into a portfolio of 10 stocks.
Stock A MSFT has gone up 10%
Stock B PEP has gone down 10%
What should you do?
Add onto your winners or add onto your losers?
LESSON: ALWAYS ADD ONTO YOUR WINNERS (Especially for long term investing)
Reallocate your capital from your losers to winners. (Exit PEP and buy MSFT)
This is because you never know when the market may turn around and you know MSFT has momentum now.
I've seen many people do the opposite and got burnt (including myself)
