One thing you learn after years of lifting is that just because a weight FEELS heavy doesn’t mean it’s too heavy for you. Sometimes you’ve been lifting the same weight for weeks, not because you aren’t strong enough to go heavier, but because you’ve gotten comfortable with what you KNOW you can lift. If you’re finishing 10 reps and could realistically squeeze out another 3 or 4 with good form, you’re probably ready to increase the weight.
Today, challenge yourself on ONE exercise. Warm up, go slightly heavier than your usual working weight, and see what you can do with controlled, clean reps.
Don’t sacrifice form just to move more weight, but don’t confuse discomfort with reaching your limit either. You might be stronger than you’ve been giving yourself credit for. Go find out! 🔥
