👋 Welcome to the J4K Goalkeeper Community!
Hi Keepers and Parents, As you probably know, goalkeeping is a VERY LONELY position for both keepers and parents. This is why J4K created this community - So PLEASE take advantage as there is NOTHING like this on the planet! Please take a few minutes to do the below. 1️⃣ Introduce Yourself - Tell us your name and what country you’re from. - Share ONE thing you’d love to get out of this community (training tips, glove advice, scholarship info, etc.). IMPORTANT: Because there are children in this community, we’re committed to keeping it safe and supportive for every goalkeeper and parent. This is a community that looks out for each other — if someone tries to spam, troll, bully, or sell directly or indirectly, they’re usually reported quickly. J4K has ZERO tolerance for any of this, and accounts that break these rules will be banned, helping keep the community safe for all. VALUE POST COMPETITION - UPDATE 🏆
Guys, every 2 weeks we run our Value Posts competition, where you can win FREE J4K goalkeeper gloves. Before, it was hard for my team to check 2 weeks of posts. But now, using the Leaderboard at the top of the page, it makes it much easier for us to check the most active members each week. From now on, everyone in the Top 10 each week will go into a draw to win a pair of FREE J4K gloves. We will also record us picking the winner, so it is fair for everyone. To give yourself the best chance of getting into the Top 10: - post value content - comment on other posts - help other goalkeepers in the group - Important: the more comments your post gets, the higher you can move up the leaderboard. So make sure your posts help, inspire, or teach others. This is what the competition is all about — goalkeepers helping goalkeepers. Top tip: posts with images usually get more comments, so add photos where you can. So get involved, start posting, support others, and give yourself a chance to win FREE goalkeeper gloves. I will let you know later this week when we pick our first winner. REMEMBER: 'A rising tide raises all ships.' Good Luck - Ray

Nose injury
Evening everyone, My son suffered a nasty injury to his nose yesterday after being kicked in the face whilst on the floor resulting in his nose bleeding quite heavily and needing hospital assistance. Thankfully nothing is broken, just some swelling and bruising (he handled it like a champ). He wants to get back into football, but is a bit nervous in case he has another bang to the nose. Has anyone ever used one of these masks? Are they allowed? What's peoples thoughts? Thanks 🧤

Weekend update – plenty of action
Following my previous post about our busy sports weekend, here’s how it went. Lizer – Friday (cup match): 2–1 defeat in the final minutes. One of those games where you can feel early that things aren’t going your way. We barely created any shots on target. We went 1–0 up in the first half but they turned it around. Lizer couldn’t really do much about the goals. The first was a point-blank 1v1 after their striker dribbled past several defenders. The second came from a free kick into the box: Lizer made the first save but couldn’t push it wide and after a couple of rebounds the ball ended up going in off one of our defenders. From the sidelines we also didn’t fully understand some of the experiments from the coaches, moving players into positions they weren’t used to. In the end we went home feeling a bit cold about the result, especially because a win would have put us right back into the group race. Lizer – Friday (cup match): Better result: 8–3 win. It was against the weakest team, but we still conceded two goals due to some lack of defensive solidity. The last one was a long free kick that bounced in front of Lizer and surprised him — he said a teammate tried to clear it and missed the ball, which distracted him at the worst moment. We talked about it afterwards and what he could do better next time. Water polo: My daughter’s team lost both matches, but it’s a brand new team with players just starting the sport, so that’s part of the process. Finally: my game. My match ended 2-2 in another late drama. For the second game in a row we achieved the equaliser in the final minutes when we were down 1-2. This time it was literally the last play: we had a corner, I went up to attack it, and the ball ended up going in from an own goal just before it reached me 😉. The referee didn’t even allow the kickoff. So yes… plenty of goals, lessons, and emotions this weekend!
Help with Distribution
I need help please. My son is a goalkeeper in U10 team. He is very athletic. His coach said he is excellent with stopping the ball, dives and brave as a lion. BUT he is very slow with distribution, he is always hesitating to get the ball back into the game. He is not sure whether to pass, or throw or volley it. That could even result into moving him into less stronger team next year if he doesnt improve due to lowering number of teams from 4 now to 3 next year. That could be due to his personality and decision making, and a number of missed team trainings due to sickness. Could better distribution be trained ( at home, gk trainings) or it only becomes better in games with whole team? What can we do? How are you with distribution?
