No league game
Hunter has no league game again this week, who's in the same boat? And what other plans do you have?

Our league game is going ahead tomorrow morning, on grass, it was cancelled twice already. My keeper was sick for few days, missed 2 trainings but I played with him in the yard today to get him back into shape a bit. Hopefully he will stand it well and strong tomorrow πŸ’ͺ

@Gareth Wade Thank you!
Training at home
How does everyone else get practice in at home? Hunter has one of these rebound nets set up in the living room πŸ˜…

@JosΓ© Carlos Cimorra Our couch is suffering tooπŸ˜€ My son used to put pillows to one side and had me throwing the ball to the opposite corner and dived there. Pity it was only one sided practice, as on the other side of the couch was tv and he could not dive there

Nice!
Summer or winter?
What are peoples views on changing footy from winter to summer? Personally I think it'd be great because Hunters teams pitch gets water logged from a slight bit of rain!

It's never hard grounds in Ireland I think ha ha, the summer can be as bad! Rarely you get a very dry week. In summer lots of people take holidays and might be a mess to play the games ( especially league ones, friendlies should be ok). If you only have one keeper in the team and he goes away it can be a problem. My keeper usually goes away home for 2 months in summer.
SIDELINE's view VS GOALKEEPER's view
A good advice came in the discussion from former pro GK and main J4K Ireland coach Matthew Gregg at J4K Skool Ireland.It makes a lot of sence. If you are watching the game from the side of the pitch, it might look very obvious for parents and coaches for a goalkeeper to react/ act some certain way. But from the eyes/position of a goalkeeper - different things look obvious and right to do! Therefore a goalkeeper has to go with his original decision and to be vocal to let the team mates know with clear instructions. Otherwise, listening to the sideline ,goalkeeper's hesitation causes havoc. It is for the GOALKEEPER to decide, with parents/coaches shouting would put INDECISION in the keeper's mind.

@Kian Patterson ha ha , I understand, and for you as a coach especially!!! Some guidance is good but they better learn from own experience..!

Agree agree agree!! It's a completely different kitchen inside the game than what it looks from the outside!! But to be honest, I never saw it this way myself untill now🫒 You learn something new every day!!
