This weekend was full of firsts... and I honestly surprised myself. ❤️✨
🎶 My first ever festival.
🏕️ My first time camping.
⛺ My first time putting up a tent (and I'm pretty sure I could do it on my own now! 💪).
👭 I made new friends and actually started conversations with people I'd never met before.
💃 I stayed up late dancing... completely sober... and had the best time!
What made it even more special was that I earned this trip as a work incentive. 🏆 I worked incredibly hard in sales to qualify, so being there felt even more rewarding.
A year ago, I probably wouldn't have gone.
My anxiety would have convinced me I wasn't good enough, that people would judge me or that I wouldn't keep up. Instead... I said yes.
Yes, I stressed all week about the themes, what to wear and packed everything except the kitchen sink! 😂 But once I got there, I had one of the best weekends of my life.
The company pulled out all the stops. 🌟 Retreat activities by day, amazing live acts by night, incredible weather ☀️ (although I may have come home with a little sunburn... we'll gloss over that! 😂).
One of my favourite moments was chatting to a complete stranger. We spoke about life's losses, our wins and realised how much we had in common. ❤️ It reminded me that everyone has a story.
I also had some brilliant conversations about health and fitness. One lady shared her incredible results, and I was able to pass on some of the knowledge I've learned from coach . I'm always learning, so being able to help someone else felt really special. 💚 I'm also proud that I stayed mindful with my food. 🥗 I tracked everything for accountability, enjoyed myself without overindulging and reminded myself that balance is key. Every morning I made sure I had my protein, creatine and electrolytes, and kept my electrolytes topped up throughout the day. 💧
I managed an incredible 67,581 steps over the two days! 👣😅 That wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't started increasing my daily step count back in January. I never imagined I'd be able to walk that much... and the funny thing is, I actually enjoyed it! 🚶♀️ Today is all about recovery, rest and letting my legs recover. 😴
Looking back, this weekend wasn't just about a festival.
~ It was about saying yes to life.
~ It was about proving that anxiety doesn't get to make every decision anymore.
~ It was about trusting the stronger version of me that I've worked so hard to become.
Since January, working on myself has given me so much more than physical changes. It's given me confidence, courage, resilience, friendships and memories I would have missed if I'd listened to fear.
If you're waiting until you feel "ready"... don't.
Sometimes the biggest growth happens when you do it scared.
Keep saying yes. Keep investing in yourself.
Keep stepping outside your comfort zone.
You never know where one decision might take you. ❤️
Super grateful. Super blessed. 🙏✨
