I was told growing up that dribbling too much was bad. Coaches preach one or two dribbles MAX when driving to the basket. Not a bad concept, but this is outdated.
During our high-level workouts today, Danny and I had our athletes use MORE dribbles, upwards of 3, 4, or even 5 dribbles when driving to the rim.
Why? A few reasons.
- More dribbles threw off the defender's timing. They never knew when our athlete would score.
- Allows offense to get in position to use their BUMPS.
- Offense was always in control.
Of course there are times where too many dribbles are bad. What are your thoughts on the use of MORE dribbles?👇
