First client I didn’t know
Today I have my very first client that I wasn’t already familiar with. Saw her training her handle at the ymca and asked if I could put her through a workout. It went very well imo, she was very responsive to every drill, I also got skme videos. Unfortunately I won’t post them because she was underage and I wasn’t able to get parental consent because she was there by herself. Nonetheless still had a great time and I am very happy that I went outside of my comfort zone.

She was 12, I would say for her age her skill level was intermediate. Yes I definitely am, I’ll be at the local gyms and parks everyday until I get consistent clientele just looking to train people and get my name out there

That’s the one thing I forgot to do. I did have her take down my instagram and my website thought
Making a schedule
When it comes to making a schedule that includes only private sessions and semi-private sessions, how does that work? Is it better to have certain days where you only do one or the other? I’m making my website and I’m struggling with that part

Oh stripe is actually what I’m using right now. I think I have to prove my worth to the clients before I start having memberships, no?

Viral Defensive Video
I'm sure we've all seen the viral clip of a coach teaching to cross your feet and run to beat the offensive player to the spot. I'm curious everyone's thoughts on this topic?

Only should be running if your man beats you. In that video he was saying to run just to beat ur man to a spot. Easy way to get fried
First official client
So today I had my first official training session with 2 players. One of them didn’t give nearly as much effort as I wanted on a majority of the drills while the other did. The kid that wasn’t giving great effort also seemed to be in his head about all his mistakes. I talked to him throughout the workout and consistently had to show him how the workout was supposed to be done since he was not giving great effort. Towards the end he get better but I was definitely still left a little disappointed. How would you guys have reacted to this situation to make it better? Thanks

@Daniel Cooper well right now I’m just trying to train as much as possible, especially since it’s the offseason. I’m currently in the process of creating my website. I shadowed a big-time trainer in my area 2 weeks ago and was able to pick his brain about the training side of basketball. Is there anything else that you would recommend I try?

@Daniel Cooper that’s great
Pricing
Is it better to train for free when you’re first starting out, or charge but charge an extremely low price? Like 10 dollars a kid? I’ve been looking around on YouTube and I’ve seen some mixed reviews. Some people have said to start out free so you can get as much clients as possible and then start charging about a month later. On the other side, I’ve seen people charge an extremely low price and still have no trouble getting clients. Let me know your thoughts.
