Used Royalty-Free music… Got a copyright notice?! What gives?
Okay, bit of a rant but also genuinely looking for advice here.
I use a subscription-based music service specifically for copyright-free, royalty-free tracks—or I use CapCut Pro's stock music. So, in theory, I should be doing everything by the book, right? Any logical human being would assume they’re in the clear.
But no. Right after uploading my video, boom -- copyright restriction notice. 😤 It’s not affecting my channel yet, but it definitely raises some red flags for the future.
Has anyone else run into this?
  • Should I be filing a claim with CapCut?
  • Has anyone gone through the “Take Action” process via YouTube Studio?
  • Or maybe there’s a smarter workaround I’m missing entirely?
I’m about to deep-dive into some research, but I figured I’d ping the community first... surely I’m not the only one this has happened to. Would love to hear what’s worked (or not worked) for you!
