Have you ever had a group of people online sing happy birthday to you? I hadn't either - until this morning. Not only was it hilarious (the lag time was the icing on the cake!), but it made me smile so hard my cheeks actually hurt. Thank you so much to everyone who was kind enough to play along, and thank you to @Jennifer Silbert for being a champion cheerleader! In addition to this feat of excellence, the session started off with some important CLASSIFIEDS updates and introductions to 13 incredible people/communities in the CLASSIFIEDS. I am continually blown away by the caliber of the members in this group and the warm, supportive, collaborative spirit! There's just something about having emojis blown at you while you are talking that really buoys you up! HOW IT WORKS - READ THIS FIRST
Ever wonder how you can let people know about your Skool community? Feel like you have so much to offer but don't know how to get people involved? Wish there was somewhere you were actually allowed to promote yourself and talk about your offer? Look no further! The Skool Classifieds are the place where you are not only allowed to promote yourself, but you are actually encouraged to do so! Like the Classifieds section of your local newspaper or the Community Message Board at the gym, this is the place to let people know what you do and what you offer. Here's how it works: 1. Invite other Skoolers you know to join the group using your invite link. The more people join, the more people there are to promote to! 2. You can post once a day only. This is to keep the group from getting spammy. If it's spammy, people won't read and you won't get noticed. Post as many days in a row as you want, but please do not post the same thing day after day - mix it up! 3. Make sure you add your post to the appropriate group/heading. Please see below for a description of what each group is for. If you don't see a group that is appropriate, message me. 4. Self-Promotion is what this group is all about, but please do not DM people with your offers. You will be removed from the group for doing this. 5. 🚨 If your church doesn’t have a clear, repeatable safety plan… you don’t have “security.” You have hope. I’m a Christian, Army veteran, and husband of 40 years. I’m also a dad to two daughters and a proud pappy to six grandkids. I help lead our church security team and that’s exactly why I can’t stay quiet about what I keep seeing: Good people volunteering to protect God’s house… but no written plan, no defined roles, and too much pressure on one person to “figure it out” when seconds matter. Here’s the part that should wake every church leader up: - 2024: the FBI documented 24 active shooter incidents, and “houses of worship” is specifically listed as a location category.  - - 2023: the FBI documented 48 active shooter incidents with 244 total casualties (105 killed).  - - 2023: 2,699 hate-crime incidents were reported as religion-based.  - - A major open-source tracking report documented 485 hostile incidents against churches in 2023 and 415 in 2024 (still dramatically higher than prior years).  - ✅ This is why I created Global Church Security Academy.
