I’m Closing Free Access to My Publishing Community
Creators & entrepreneurs: your next product might be a BOOK. 📚 If you already have knowledge, content, an ebook, a course, a framework, or even just an idea, you can turn it into a physical book and sell it on Amazon. That’s exactly what I teach inside my KDP Publishing community. And because my background is in SEO, I’m not interested in teaching people to just “publish and hope.” We talk about how to research, optimize, position, and market your book so you’re giving it a real opportunity to be discovered and generate income. 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 new members can join the community for free. Starting tomorrow, new members will have to pay to get access. If learning self-publishing has been sitting on your someday list, today would be a good day to check it out. 👉 JOIN KDP PUBLISHING NOW And if you know a creator or entrepreneur who has been talking about writing a book, send this their way.

Such a great community @Krista Brea. I can see why you're switching to paid.

@Shannon Boyer has built an awesome community here in The Skool Classifieds, and this post is my way of giving back and saying thanks to everyone in it. I've noticed a trend across a lot of communities: everyone is pitching, but hardly anyone is sharing their best stuff, and even fewer are telling their actual story. Gatekeeping doesn't protect your business. It just makes you forgettable. When I talk about sharing your story, I don't mean a polished origin narrative. I mean building in public, showing real results, and helping people who aren't even in your groups yet. Someone tries what you suggested, gets a quick win, and remembers you the next time they need help. That’s the entire framework. There’s simple human psychology behind why this works so well. Think of it like a bakery: One baker hides their bread behind a curtain and demands $5 upfront just for a peek. The second baker stands on the street handing out warm, delicious slices for free. The moment someone tastes that free sample: - The Certainty Gap Vanishes: They don't have to guess if the baker is good. They've tasted the result. - Reciprocity Kicks In: Our brains are hardwired to favour people who give us value first. It’s the exact same approach I use across my YouTube channel and my communities. My videos get found because they answer the specific questions people are already searching for, and I give the solution away completely rather than hiding it behind a paywall. By the time someone lands in one of my communities, they’ve already gotten value from something I taught for free. The trust is built before they ever join. I'm not saying don't sell. Of course you sell. That’s how a community stays alive and how you keep showing up for your members. But to stand out, you need a personal brand, and you build one by becoming the person known for helping people get from A to B. Give away your best insights. Be transparent about what happened when you tested them.

@Americo Da Costa I personally wouldn't switch to a paid model unless your Skool is converting when it is free.
