Can You Lift a Heavy Box Off the Floor?
Honest question… answer in the comments!
My abuela (grandma) would often pinch my arm and say “flaca.” She would look at me concerned and asked me if I was hungry to which I replied that I was fine. Fast forward to over 10 years later and now as I look back at photos of myself, I can see why she was concerned.
I didn’t have any issues with eating but I had very little to no muscle and thinking back to how life felt back then I remember…
  • Always being tired
  • Poor stress management
  • Not feeling strong and also feeling easily hurt
Now, with over 7 years of lifting experience, I have energy for the day, have better control over my stress, and can deadlift 308lbs. Shameless plug, can you blame me?
Strength training has not only helped me physically and mentally but it has opened other doors of wellness that have improved my life overall. And as a woman, my bone density is the highest it has ever been, which is important as a large amount of women develop osteoporosis as they age.
So why strength training? Because it isn’t just a form of movement. It’s a way to honor your body and get stronger in multiple facets of your life. Like
Lifting heavy objects off the floor confidently
Less injury & falling risk
Better hormonal & metabolic function
Getting up and out of chairs with ease
