SEO, AIO, AEO, GEO...what the heck are they?
People keep asking about SEO, AIO, AEO, and GEO. They sound similar, but they are not the same thing. Here’s the simplest way to understand the difference. SEO Search Engine Optimization This is about helping your content rank in traditional search results. Think Google links, blog posts, product pages, keywords, and backlinks. Goal: get someone to click your website. AEO Answer Engine Optimization This is about helping your content be selected as a direct answer. Think featured snippets, “People Also Ask,” voice search, and AI summaries. Goal: get your content quoted as the answer. AIO AI Optimization This is about helping large language models understand and trust your content. Think ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude. Clear structure, clean explanations, authority, and context matter more than keywords. Goal: get your content referenced, summarized, or cited by AI. GEO Generative Engine Optimization This is the newest layer. It focuses on how generative AI systems assemble answers from multiple sources. Your content must be modular, factual, and easy to remix without distortion. Goal: influence how AI builds responses, not just what it ranks. The big shift most people miss: Search is no longer just about clicks. It’s about visibility inside AI-generated answers. SEO gets you found. AEO gets you quoted. AIO gets you understood. GEO gets you included in the story AI tells. If you’re only doing SEO in 2025, you’re only playing part of the game. This is exactly why content strategy has changed. AI Agents and GEO-ready Workflows
Sorry for being MIA the past few months. I've missed this crowd and the community. OMG...I'm online today with a virtual conference offered by Semji about Search to GEO...my head is spinning... Once concept I find interesting is developing an AI Agent that helps build content that is SEO and GEO friendly. The live example they used was for a Marketing Agency and how it was tied into Slack for the workgroup to comment etc. and how the AI Agent built out and posted the blog to a website. It went pretty fast but I'd sure like to learn more about this. I apologize again if this topic has been covered.
Why Your Site Might Start Losing Traffic Now...
Google’s AI overviews are pushing normal search results further and further down. If your site isn’t showing up inside those AI answers, you’re going to lose a big chunk of traffic this year. Some people in the group have mentioned struggling with SEO or not knowing where to start, so I’ve found something that should genuinely help. I’ve just tested a tool that shows you which keywords trigger those AI overviews, where your competitors are getting backlinks, and which content gaps are holding you back. I ran FastBots through it during the video and the amount of useful info it pulled in seconds was honestly impressive. There’s also a lifetime deal running right now which means you only pay once. No subscription at all. 🎬 WATCH THE VIDEO OR 🏷️ GET THE LIFETIME DEAL If you’ve been meaning to improve your rankings or figure out what content to create next, this will point you in the right direction quickly. Cheers Jason

SEO Isn’t Just for Google Anymore
If you’re only optimizing for traditional search engines, you’re already behind. Today’s discovery happens inside LLM platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. These platforms are where users don’t “search,” they ask. Your content needs to be understood by AI, not just indexed by algorithms. That means writing with semantic clarity, structured context, and consistent brand signals so large language models can confidently surface your brand as a trusted answer. Old SEO gets you seen. LLM SEO gets you recommended. If your company isn’t showing up on LLMs, it’s time to act fast! Search is evolving at lightning speed, and platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity are where people are turning for answers instead of Google. The companies that adapt now will own the future of visibility. Run a quick test: ask any of these AI platforms what your company does. Are you mentioned? Are you recognized as a trusted source? If not, don’t wait. Ask your favorite LLM how to get discovered and start optimizing today. The brands that understand LLM visibility are already pulling ahead. Don’t let yours disappear in the noise.
