Decided to try this one again since I really love the Tobacco Sapphire from Boadicea. This one is not as nice as that, but has a smoky onset but drys down into something that is very soft and smooth, but you have to lean into to it over time to make sure its still there. I will have to work on spray count for this one to make sure I get what I need 😎 Here's ChatGPT's thoughts. Tabacco Toscano – Santa Maria Novella Fragrance Family: Tobacco / Woody / Leather Gender: Unisex (leans masculine) Style: Warm, leathery, sweet, smoky, old-world luxury Type: Acqua di Colonia (SMN’s version of EDT strength but behaves like a soft EDP) This is one of Santa Maria Novella’s flagship masculine scents, inspired by Tuscan cigar tobacco, leather workshops, and warm Florentine air. ⭐ Full Olfactory Profile – Pyramid Breakdown Top Notes - Bergamot - Citrus peel - Light aromatic herbs You get a quick, fresh opening — not sharp, but clean and bright enough to lift the rich tobacco beneath. Heart Notes - Tobacco leaves (sweet, leafy, aromatic — not smoky) - Leather (old-school, refined, soft) - Vanilla (warm, sweet, balancing the tobacco) - Amber (adds golden warmth) This is where the fragrance becomes unmistakably Italian tobacco — warm, rich, sweet-leathery, and incredibly elegant. Base Notes - Dark woods - Soft smoke (like cigar smoke trailing off a leather chair — delicate, not heavy) - Animalic tone (very subtle — gives depth) - Powdery vanilla (creamy, sweet, skin-like) The dry-down is soft, warm, leathery-sweet tobacco with a vintage European character. 🎩 How It Smells (in plain language) Imagine: - A freshly rolled Tuscan cigar - A leather armchair in a small Florentine artisan workshop - Warm vanilla and sweet tobacco drying in the afternoon sun - Soft smoke floating in a quiet room This is refined tobacco, not harsh, not smoky, not synthetic. It smells like a gentleman’s tobacco, old-world, clean, warm, elegant.

Which Note Took You the Longest to Understand?
I’ve been training my nose more seriously, and one note still challenges me every time: the oregano and herbal smoke effect in Amouage Interlude Man. I know it isn’t literally just oregano. It’s that mix of oregano, pimento berry, incense resins, and leathery balsamic facets all hitting at once. The way they combine is so unusual that it took me a long time just to understand what I was smelling. Honestly, I’m still working on it. So I’m curious: What note took YOU the longest to understand or appreciate? Was it oud? Patchouli? Metallic notes? Ambrox? Something herbal or smoky like Interlude? Also, did a specific fragrance finally help that note “click” for you the same way Interlude is forcing me to learn how to dissect herbal smoky textures?
