WINNER for "The Scent That Started Your Journey" Challenge 🥁🥁
Gents — this challenge was a blast! These stories have been pure gold. Funny, real, nostalgic, and honestly the kind of posts that make this community what it is. Now… for the winner 🥁🥁🥁 🏆 WINNER: @Lon Chaneyfield Lon took us straight back to 1981 — college in upstate New York, right after the disco/rock era — when he wasn’t exactly Mr. Smooth with the ladies. Then there was his buddy David: not the best-looking guy on campus, but somehow he had this magnetism Lon couldn’t explain. At first, Lon thought it was style — so he upgraded the wardrobe (serious Ferris Bueller vibes 😂). But the “it factor” still wasn’t there. Then came the moment that changed everything: On the way to a keg party, David insisted on running back to the dorm for one thing — a little white bottle. Not a clone. Not a random splash. YSL Kouros. Lon could immediately sense the power of it — bold, animalistic, unforgettable — and then watched David’s magnetism in real time at the party. The next morning, Lon made his move: with his brand-new first credit card, he hopped a bus to JCPenney and bought his first cologne for himself. And from there? The rest is basically 80s history. Lon says Kouros became tied to so many peak memories that even today, he doesn’t really wear it out… but at home? One spray and it’s instant time travel. That’s the power of scent right there. @Lon Chaneyfield — love this story! Everyone else: keep those stories coming in the feed! These are the kind of stories that make this community what it is.

SOTD:  Golden Dust CFO 26/01/2026
Towards the end of last year, I started to get an interest in fragrance oils. Red African was the first that hit hard for me and golden Dust is a close second. I got into these Concentrated Perfume oils as they are fantastic to layer with. But they also hold their own for solo use..a golden Dust has a warm glow from within profile and was made popular by ME houses like Sunnamusk and Swiss Arabian. If you are looking for gourmand Oriental scents that have longevity without the sharp alcohol hit from traditional fragrances then this could be for you The he best way for me to describe it is, A creamy balsamic vanilla with a luminous honeyed edge. It doesn't scream, it just radiates. The opening starts of with a brief sparkling hint of grapefruit and Damask Rose. The citrus is as always fleeting. But it does lift the heavier notes, so they don't feel muddy. At the heart, you will find the magic happen, A thick almost sickly sweet honeysuckle is perfectly blended with a combination of Vanilla & white Musk. It smells like sun-warmed skin or a luxury honey-infused cream. As it settles into the dry down, arich, resinous base of Amber and Balsamic notes. The musk here isn't "soapy"; it’s a soft, fuzzy "skin-musk" that counteracts the sweetness from becoming cloying. Because it's an oil it doesn't evaporate as quickly as a edp. You can actually get a lot closer the the 12hr mark with an good oil. Even after showering. Projection however will be moderate as oils sit closer to your skin. While it won't fill a room instantly, it creates a "scent bubble" around you. People will catch a whiff when you move or when they lean in. Since this is a concentrated oil, a little goes a long way. Apply a small drop to your wrists, neck, and behind the ears. The heat from your blood flow helps the oil "bloom." My Rating 8/10 Scent 2 Longevity 3 Sillage 2 Y/N 1
