After my trip plans yesterday abruptly changed and after a lot of rescheduling for today, I decided that I needed a scent that would be calming and fresh. BTV - Envious is one of those scents that just puts my brain in a good place. It sits on the skin well, when I move I can get the right amount of "Whiff" that always reminds me of how much I like it. Good morning, frag fam. Welp family, we are one day closer to the weekend on this beautiful brisk Thursday morning here in the Windy City. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning walk with my dog Boaz, feeling that cool breeze in my face and taking in this last stretch of great weather before it supposedly comes to an end later today. Moments like that remind me to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the simple blessings we sometimes overlook. To match the vibe, I reached for a fragrance from Aaron Terrence Hughes, a discontinued gem — Guapo Extreme. It doesn’t seem to get the same love as the original Guapo, which I honestly don’t understand, but that’s the beauty of perfumery. One person’s masterpiece can be another person’s pass, and that diversity of taste is what makes this journey so fun. I’m thoroughly enjoying it today. ATH continues to push the envelope of olfactory science, and when people call him the mad scientist of fragrance, I can absolutely see why. Guapo Extreme is a green, citrus-forward freshie with fantastic woody nuances underneath. Projection is great, sillage sits nicely around that 3–4 foot range, and longevity on my skin is a solid 8–9 hours. In my book, ATH does not miss — this one is a 9.0 all day long.
