WINNER for "The Scent That Started Your Journey" Challenge 🥁🥁
Gents — this challenge was a blast! These stories have been pure gold. Funny, real, nostalgic, and honestly the kind of posts that make this community what it is. Now… for the winner 🥁🥁🥁 🏆 WINNER: @Lon Chaneyfield Lon took us straight back to 1981 — college in upstate New York, right after the disco/rock era — when he wasn’t exactly Mr. Smooth with the ladies. Then there was his buddy David: not the best-looking guy on campus, but somehow he had this magnetism Lon couldn’t explain. At first, Lon thought it was style — so he upgraded the wardrobe (serious Ferris Bueller vibes 😂). But the “it factor” still wasn’t there. Then came the moment that changed everything: On the way to a keg party, David insisted on running back to the dorm for one thing — a little white bottle. Not a clone. Not a random splash. YSL Kouros. Lon could immediately sense the power of it — bold, animalistic, unforgettable — and then watched David’s magnetism in real time at the party. The next morning, Lon made his move: with his brand-new first credit card, he hopped a bus to JCPenney and bought his first cologne for himself. And from there? The rest is basically 80s history. Lon says Kouros became tied to so many peak memories that even today, he doesn’t really wear it out… but at home? One spray and it’s instant time travel. That’s the power of scent right there. @Lon Chaneyfield — love this story! Everyone else: keep those stories coming in the feed! These are the kind of stories that make this community what it is.

Y Iced Cologne familiar Ysl Y but iced out.
01-23-26 Y Iced Cologne opens with a refreshing burst of mint, instantly cooling and invigorating. This refreshing scent is perfect for the gym or freshening up after a workout. As it transitions, the fragrance reveals a soft blend of aromatics and light sweet ambroxan, maintaining the signature Y freshness we come to love. Longevity: Around 6hours on my skin, 7ish on clothe. Sillage: Noticeable at first, then settles into a clean, close-to-skin scent (got two compliments at the gym) Ideal for workouts, hot days, or anytime you want to smell fresh and put-together without making a big splash.

SOTD: Curly’s Ryziger Gentleman’s Code
So I blind bought Curly’s new Ryziger fragrance the Gentleman’s Code, and I’ve been wearing it all afternoon. TLDR it’s nice, but it’s way too sweet for my taste and it’s not blowing me away. First of all, the presentation is both nice and a bit cheesy at the same time. The picture on the box and logo on the bottle are a bit goofy to me, but the bottle is a very nice solid feeling polished glass, the cap is heavy with strong magnetic closure, and the atomizer is pretty darn good. But what we really care about is the smell. This is strong, sweet stuff. At the open I get a wave of sweetness - a little fruity orange, some warm cardamom and vanillic tonka, but carried on a sweet mushroom cloud of weapons-grade ambroxan. It’s not a complex scent, like, at all… it’s relatively well blended in the sense that it’s hard to pick out individual notes, but umm maybe there just aren’t many. The orange fades in about 30 minutes and I’m left with a candy sweet Tonka vanilla with a hint of lavender and some ambery warmth that I assume is at least one of the two ambroxans used. My overall impression is this is a super easy to wear, super safe but not super complex blue. This stuff lasts for a long while… 4+ hours in and it didn’t change much or quiet down. At hour 6, it’s finally quieting down a little (but it’s still projecting…) and settling into a very nice tonka vanilla amber drydown. While this doesn’t smell like anything else I’ve encountered, it also doesn’t stand out as unique if that makes sense. This stuff is beastly. I had heard it was strong so I just did a few quick puffs (like, fractional sprays) on my arms, a puff to the back of the neck and a puff to the chest - maybe the equivalent of 4 full sprays. I feel like I’m sitting in a massive scent bubble and projecting like crazy - I went to the optician to pick up some new specs and I was worried I was going to choke them out. I’ll post an update below with more info on longevity but this is trending to “eternal”.
