NICHE vs. DESIGNER — Which Side Are You On?
This is one of the oldest debates in the fragrance world - and opinions run HOT. NICHE FRAGRANCES: Crafted by independent houses obsessed with artistry over mass appeal. Think Amouage, Creed, Serge Lutens. Bold, complex, unapologetically unique. You wear niche and you know no one else in the room is wearing the same thing. But you're paying for the privilege. DESIGNER FRAGRANCES — The Chanels, the Diors, the Tom Fords. Masterfully blended, backed by decades of heritage, and worn by people who know what they're doing. Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel are bestsellers for a reason — they're refined, proven, and never embarrassing. The debate: Is niche fragrance the pinnacle of personal expression — or is it overpriced elitism dressed up as art? And are designer houses underrated gems hiding in plain sight? Tell us: Team Niche or Team Designer? Vote below 👇 — and tell me which house or specific fragrance makes your case? Roast the other camp respectfully — this is a gentleman's debate after all. 😄

Superdrug UK Perfume Pods - One Time Free Fill Offer
Quick note for UK peeps who might not be aware. Superdrug offer a service where they’ll give you a free fill from a curated fragrance selection on purchase of a Perfume Pod (a 5ml travel atomiser). The pod costs £8. Apparently, it’s everything but “premium” fragrances, but some stores are more loose with that definition than others. It’s also dependant on what testers they have. I bought one yesterday, and got a free 5ml of Stronger With You Absolutely. There were many others of interest to me too. Worth a look!

SOTD: Guilty Pour Homme edt by Gucci 18/04/2026
You could look at this edt as the gold standard of modern, versatile designer fragrances. Originally launched in 2011, it has remained a popular seller mainly because it strikes a rare balance: it is distinct enough to be recognized, yet safe enough to be worn anywhere. As an Aromatic Fougère, this fragrance is built on a contrast between sharp, clean citrus and a warm, floral heart that feels unexpectedly smooth for a mans fragrance. The opening is bright and zesty, with Amalfi Lemon and Lavender. The lavender here isn't the old-fashioned soap variety; it’s herbal and modern, giving it a clean, just-out-of-the-shower vibe. The heart is were you find the secret sauce African Orange Flower. Orange blossom is typically found in feminine perfumery, but here it provides a creamy, white-floral sweetness that softens the citrus. The dry down is masculine and earthy, with a combo of Virginia Cedar and Patchouli. The patchouli is refined not dirty and gives a woody foundation that lingers on the skin. As an edt this will only give you a moderate presence rather than room-filling power. It will last on skin for almost 5hrs but will require reapplying throughout the day. It projects welll for the first 90 minutes. After that, it settles into a personal scent bubble. And as you will probably guess leaves a subtle, pleasant trail rather than a heavy cloud. It's a dumb reach that works in the office, at the gym, or on a casual date. It is very difficult for someone to dislike this scent. If you want a reliable, sophisticated, and safe signature scent that smells modern, Guilty is a fantastic investment. However, if you have a collection of 20+ fragrances, you might find it a bit too safe. My Rating 6.5/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

SOTE - Forever Wanted Elixir
This nice but underwhelming, performance on my skin and outdoor is garbage, I literally have like 4-5ml on and barely get any whiffs unless I put my nose into it. I asked my wife, who has no problem telling what she thinks, says she can't even smell it. Put my hand up to her nose and she says it's ok, then it was, "I hope you didn't spend more than $20 on it. Is it one of those clones?" This is just my take and if you love, that is great. I probably wouldn't give it this much hate if it performed better on me. I will say the lavender is nice, really reminds me of BIR and the leather isn't funky, more mass appealing take on TF Tuscan Leather
