Weekly Brotherhood of Scent Shoutouts 🔥
Brothers, here are a few standout posts from the BOS community this week. Shoutout to @Renato Carotti for sparking a major conversation around his order update from The Parfums. The discussion shows how invested this community is in the fragrance-buying experience. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/an-update-on-your-order-from-the-parfums Shoutout to @Ollie Kearns for sharing his fragrance journey as a 16-year-old. From early mistakes to building more intentional taste, this is exactly the kind of progression that helps newer members learn. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/my-current-fragrance-journey-as-a-16-yo And shoutout to @Michael LoCascio Sr for the “Two farewells this weekend” post. Finishing bottles in a serious collection always sparks great conversation, and this one clearly connected with the group. Duped by dupes
I need help with something. I’ve been in the fragrance staying for a while now. However, I’m curious about what this community feels about dupes. There are so many now! I’ve tried some just for fun and I’m not sure why they’re not getting sued more often. Many are quite good. Further the price to evaluate she was amazing. However, I am a bit of a pure, and so I feel a pain of regret when I use this instead of the “real thing.“ Does anybody have any information about: one how do they do this and two what are the arguments for and against buying these?
SOTD: YSL Tuxedo Sharp Patchouli
This is a sample that I thought was going to be the OG Tuxedo, but nope, I ordered the wrong one. And it's really more of a cool-weather fragrance. YSL Tuxedo Sharp Patchouli is one of the best examples of a modern “dressed up” fragrance done right. Released in 2015 as part of the Le Vestiaire des Parfums line and created by Juliette Karagueuzoglou, it opens with violet leaf, bergamot, and coriander before moving into a spicy floral heart with rose and black pepper. The base is where the magic happens: patchouli, ambergris, and bourbon vanilla. What makes Tuxedo special is the balance. The patchouli is earthy and smoky, but it’s polished instead of dirty, and the vanilla smooths everything out without turning sweet. It smells refined, confident, and expensive without screaming for attention. This is absolutely an evening fragrance for me — dinners, date nights, formal events, cooler weather, or anytime you want to smell elegant without going old-school barbershop. Performance is excellent too. One of those fragrances where you keep catching little waves of it hours later.

Casamorati 1888
Hey Gents. Today to kick off the week I went with 1888 from Xerjoffs Casamorati line. This is another sleeper from the house. It’s definitely known but not praised like Naxos but it’s deserving of more attention. I’ve heard this described as a sexy Dr Pepper and you’ll definitely get that here. With time and maturity your bottle will develop some more….and when it does the dry down is incredible. After the sexy Dr Pepper vibe you’ll get a beautiful powdery amber and sandalwood that I didn’t get on my initial wearings but god is it great now. Longevity I would say 10-12 hours total on three sprays. Projection 2-3 feet for 4-5 hours before retracting to a foot. 12+ hours a skin scent but still enjoyable. The stars in this are carnation, pepper, saffron, ylang ylang, amber and sandalwood. The florals blend perfect together in this one. A must try if you haven’t yet.
