SOTD Seraphim Musk by Zaharoff
Today, I opted for Zaharoff Signature Seraphim Musk, seeking a departure from the oud and gourmand fragrances that have captivated me this fall. My curiosity was piqued; I wanted to see if Seraphim Musk could redeem itself from my previous disappointment. This fragrance is both complex and versatile, boasting a woody-musky composition that is unique yet easy to wear. Fragrance Profile: Launched in 2025 by the house of Zaharoff and crafted by perfumer Claude Dir, Zaharoff Signature Seraphim Musk is classified as a woody fragrance for men, prominently featuring musk and leather. The scent is a tribute to the duality of the "sacred and the carnal," inspired by the Assyrian guardian spirit, the Lamassu. It promises a deep, meditative, and sensual experience. Top Notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Guatemalan Cardamom. Middle Notes: Moroccan Cistus Leaves (Labdanum), Mugane (a floral-woody molecule), Pink Freesia, Indian Cypriol (Nagarmotha). Base Notes: Ebony Wood, Black Musk, Leather, Black Vanilla. Seraphim Musk scores highly for its versatility, likability, and unique depth. The fragrance features a rich, smoky, and slightly sweet base that is masculine without being overpowering. Its creamy leather and refreshing cardamom notes create a scent that is both mysterious and soothing. However, my main challenge remains the weak projection and sillage after just 20 minutes, which led to some regret over the purchase. While today's experience was satisfactory since I adjusted my expectations, I would strongly advise against a blind buy.
