SOTD: Zara Sand Desert At Sunset Intense

So I’ve been test wearing Angels Share and Angels Share on the Rocks and like both of them (I actually prefer the On the Rocks flanker — the OG has a very musty open that’s unpleasant to me, although it fades after 20 minutes or so and is awesome afterwards). But I kind of blew my fragrance budget this month picking up Sauvage Elixir and Blonde Amber on sale, so some little part of me was like no, you can’t buy Angels Share too, you’ll have to wait.

But then… I figured out Zara has a well regarded fragrance that has the sweet spicyness, but without the musty boozyness, of the OG, and it also has the bitter orange of On the Rocks. So I schlepped over to Zara to give it a sniff, and it was so good I came home with the bottle. TLDR it’s a fantastic scent for the price, I wouldn’t say it’s a dupe but it definitely scratches the itch that Angels Share OG and OTR were giving me, but for $49 instead of $250+ I could squeeze it into the budget.

I’m in the middle of the test wear but I got 3 solid hours of soft projection and it’s been a lovely skin scent so far for a few hours after that. I love the lightly sweet bitter orange and spices open, then the citrus dials back and it’s just a lovely warm creamy vanilla, incense, lightly sweet and spicy scent. No magnetic cap on this one but the bottle is a lovely brown gradient and looks pretty classy. I think this could be a great daily wear cheapie in the cooler months, wearable day or night. Very happy to add it to my collection! Next time you’re at the mall, give it a sniff!
