SOTD: Game of Spades Topaz

Recent addition. This is Jo Milano’s take on Initio Musk Therapy. I’ve only smelled the OG in stores a couple of times. I liked the scent profile but not enough to drop the amount they want on it. So when I saw this come out I picked it up for a fraction of the cost. Knowing what I know about GoS I figured it would at least be close.

On to the fragrance. Opens ups with some nice bergamot and mandarin but it doesn’t come off overly citrus as it quickly adds some florals from magnolia. It’s a very elegant (word that came to mind) scent profile that reminds me of a leisurely day at some fancy golf club.

The open and mid then mix well with the musk and sandalwood which comes off as clean and soft.

Not sure how close it gets to the OG but as a standalone this is a solid frag for under $80.

Projection is moderate at about 1.5 feet for the first 3ish hours. After that it’s more of an intimate bubble. I was getting strong whiffs of it as I drove with my windows down though. So movement might help this one’s performance. Longevity is decent I’m 5 hours in and still can smell it.
