SOTD: Bond No 9 The Scent of Peace for Him

Good day brothers!

New decant gone, The Scent of Peace for Him. Was excited for this one, as it always resonated with me based on reviews and notes.

The opening is great, and very much what I like. Fresh and refreshing scent. Sweetish and juicy pineapple is very prominent, with a tad of the sharper fresh notes, surely from the blackcurrant. Not particularly green, as I had suspected before.

As it dries down, I feel the fruity, juicy sweetness fade away, but never dissapearing. It transitions rather linearly into the woody, soft cedar and vetiver, but never leaves that nice uplifting feeling. Cedar is not exactly my favorite wood note, but acceptable. It's pretty good here.

Now, I get why there are comparissons with Aventus here. But I don;t get that very much. Feel The Scent of Peace is smoother, more fruity-sweet and juicy. The blackcurrant aligns it unmistakably to Aventus, but that's that. Actually, I got something else: I personally got strong Rlaph's Club NY vibes on this. There are of course clear differences. I feel the RL smoother, creamier, I'm thinking mainly because of the combination of mandarin and vanilla instead of sweet pinneapple, and sandalwood instead of cedar, but the black currant focus on both is apparent. If I had to decide, I do like The Scent of Peace better, as I preffer the not-so-creamy take on it.

I really do like RL NY though... and here lies the problem with the Scent of Peace for me, as with most Bond No.9 fragrances I've tried. Price. RL NY is a fraction of the price, gives me extremely similar vibes. So, same vibes, perhaps a little bit sweeter and creamier than I'd like, but at a fraction of the price?

Performance was above average on me. Pretty good actually. Applying on the morning, would still get it rather clearly at the end of the afternoon. 6-7 hours, perhaps? Projection an dsillage above average as well. Very nice for a freshie.

Conclusion:

Do I like it? 100%.

Did I enjoy the decant? Yes I did!

Full bottle worthy, for me? I really liked the scent, and the performance was rather good. The huge problem is the price. As mentioned, I would not consider it bottle-worthy, when I can get a too similar feel from Ralph's Club NY for a fraction of the price.
