Good day gents!
Very much behind on sharing my thoughts of the decants I've killed off, bu twill get through them this month.
One of those ginger/citrus fragrances, very much along the lines of L'Immensite, Vibrato, Turathi Blue, Kajal III to name a few... those all I have tried in the past. It's a profile I do enjoy very much, but is more a profile I need to be in the mood for.
In the opening, you get the immediate, familiar ginger and citrus blast, but not as sharp as I'd usually expect. This is very welcome.
The florals on the mid rear their head consistently, although I don't really get rose. Citrus accompanies the fragrance into the mid as well, where it feels it mellows out even more.
The drydown is where I feel this take is so much better than most. It takes a less more warm ambery and a vanillic base instead of the muskier drydowns on most others mentioned. A creamy note of sandalwwod, amber and vanilla is not what I would've expected, but there it is, and gives it a wonderful, warmer twist to the profile.
On most other fragrances that share this profile idea, I usually get them just too sharp. Ingenious Ginger has a much more mellow and smooth take on it than most, pretty much troughout it's life. Turns the fragrance from a "Meh" to a love.
Performance is decent. 5-6 hours on my skin, with a noteworthy sillage for the first couple of hours.
Conclusion:
Do I like it? Absolutely. It's a more situational fragrance for me though.
Did I enjoy the decants? Contrary to initial expectations, loved it.
Full bottle worthy, for me? 100%. This one is joining my small collection soon.
