Profoundo vs L’Elixir

So I was at Sephora yesterday trying to decide which frag to add to my rotation. After running through a stack of test strips, I narrowed it down to two: Acqua di Giò Profondo and YSL Y L’Elixir.

I gave each one a full “back-of-the-hand” wear test while I grabbed lunch. The YSL won me over immediately — bright citrus, ultra-clean, just a killer opening. Profondo, though… man, that opening threw me. For the first hour it had this spicy, almost broth-like vibe that honestly surprised me.

Naturally, I went back and grabbed the YSL.

But here’s the twist: an hour or two later, Profondo started to settle into this smooth, genuinely pleasant marine phase that caught my attention in a good way. Now I’m low-key curious about it again.

So for those of you who wear Profondo, how does it transition on your skin? Does that odd opening stick around, or does it always evolve into something more aquatic and enjoyable?
