So i’ve been revisiting Orto Parisi to give genuine reviews on everything, and i acquired a sample of their breakout scent, Megamare to try on my skin.

I wasn’t a huge fan of it on paper, but i figured it might smell different on me… and it still smells the same to me.

I was stupid hyped to try this one out for the first time, i’d heard about its legendary performance and photorealistic ocean scent, and actually trying it now…? i get literally none of it.

I love the brand, and adore the bottle design. The cap and a gorgeous mother of pearl on the top make it a beautiful looking fragrance, but i get literally nothing like they describe.

The opening notes are incredibly harsh, synthetic, and screechy. You get a really strong dosage of calone which stays with you throughout. In small amounts, it’s a pleasant aromachemical that gives aquatic fragrances a nice breezy uplift, but here, along with the high concentration of an extrait, it’s on absolute steroids that burns my nose, and reminds me of bleachy chlorine cleaning products.

The drydown isn’t that great either. The awful medicinal screechiness stays with it throughout, and drowns everything out. This doesn’t get compliments either btw lol, my mom says i smell like a janitor.

This was an awfully disappointing fragrance for me. I was excited to try it out, i was expecting a strong, salty metallic ocean scent, like crashing waves with seaweed and a rusty anchor, but it smells like an over chlorinated pool to me. Out of all the Orto Parisi’s this is probably my least favorite. It might have been reformulated too, i’m not sure, but it’s not worth it imo.
