So this is my personal dad joke “ when you’re a kid you have Sesame Street and when you grow up andbecome an adult it turns into struggle Street” …. Ba dum dum tish😂😂😂
I had a weird day today, maybe because I got less sleep and didn’t do my a.m. ritual. Maybe just a lot of emotional processing. I was up earlier than usual to meet my folks for coffee on their way through town; I had a doctor’s appointment after that and the weather was pretty miserable. Despite getting the outcome I was hoping for from the doctors office regarding my wrist injury and being off work, I felt pretty deflated when I got home.
I had a big to-do list and hadn’t done any of the routine or rituals that usually help me, but I was feeling emotional and overwhelmed and tired; so I did what any good parent would do and put myself to bed for a nap. I woke up feeling a little better so maybe I was just tired.
I’m trying hard to remember that one day missed is okay. Two days is a choice. So tonight I’m going to do the wind down routine hopefully get a good rest and make sure I start my morning with the morning ritual before physio. I need to have a productive day because I’m heading into the city on Saturday.
Other random reflections, - like many I’m feeling a little disappointed that I can’t afford the six week challenge; but with my new adaptable mindset, I am looking for ways to keep learning and growing and continue my good habits. One of them is to finish watching the Q&As for each day; as I didn’t do them after the lessons.
Another one is reviewing my reports/assessments from AI harmony and trying to really absorb the information in them. I’m also trying to remember that this has been a very intense time period- since I first found the five day challenge and started working through it. And this is coinciding with fairly intense time in my personal life as well having a work injury plus now needing to move by the end of the year. Plus the beginnings of a romantic relationship which fizzled quite abruptly as well so I know I need to be gentle with myself.
And I’m also remembering that we have the blueprint to look forward to. There’s been talk of maybe a group of people trying to work together on that to create some accountability and keep our momentum going while we work towards being able to afford the six week program.
So if you had a tough week; just remember to be gentle with yourself. Keep doing what works, your bare minimums - to prove to yourself that you don’t quit and you can finish things like this challenge. I know I for one need to hang on to the skills I’ve learned for dear life because where I was before this, was not a good place. And I feel like many other people are in the same boat; so if you’re one of the ones that can’t afford the six week program at the moment, don’t let that be the thing that makes you give up on the skills you’ve gained. Keep going. 💚
