As I finish my End of Year Reflection Worksheet I realized I have already disproven one of my beliefs that had been ruling my life. I believed nothing I did (in my personal life) really mattered. I went through my life noticing little things that needed to be done and just ignoring them. This way of life causes tasks and clutter to build up to the point of becoming overwhelming to even think about dealing with. One day last week I just decided to clean out a large area of the kitchen that was cluttered. I either found a place for each item to be stored or boxed it up to go out to the garage That area of the kitchen looks amazing, and brings me such peace and joy every time I look at it. I have kept that area clean and uncluttered for over a week now. I put everything in that area away now after I use it. I wipe the countertop down immediately if anything gets spilled on it. I have such pride in the neatness of that one little area!! Now those changes are starting to get applied to other area of the home and each day I have removed items of clutter or done something that needed to be done instead of just ignoring it. My motto has become "See it, Do it" for all the little things that would literally only take a minute to do. The change in my mood, and actually being proud of myself is now driving me to do more! And, I have evidence that what I do does matter - it matters to ME! It matters about how I fell in my environment, and it matters about how I feel about myself.
