6 contributions to Skool Community
Contributions for: Skool Community

Here's our roadmap. The image below shows you what's in progress and what's up next. In the last 60-days we shipped: Group landing pages, iPhone app, Android app, inline classroom editor, action posts + pin post to module. The next 60-days are going to be just as intense. We're just getting started 🔥

Now you can add a shared calendar to your Skool so your members can see what's happening, when, in their local timezone. Members can add events to their personal calendars with a click. If your community does live Q&A calls or live events, this feature is perfect for you! Watch the video to see how it works. Enjoy!

@Sam Ovens does "Members who can attend" and chose a course mean that the other members not in the course can not see the zoom link?

@Sam Ovens but others still see that stuff is happening? Welcome to my German mind wanting to make sure of all the little details 😅

Has anyone moved their free (not paid) community from Facebook to Skool? Would to hear about your experiences before making full decision of creating a community. How is the engagement compared to FB group? How is the reach compared to FB group? Would you recommend starting free group on Skool rather than on Facebook? Thanks.

@Aljaž Plankl I'd love to hear and update of how things have been going for you

@Aljaž Plankl thank you so much!!! I love how you use it

Today we shipped a bunch of "admin side" features — things that allow group admins to edit their group settings and change the way it looks and feels. Group settings are broken into three sections: • General — here you can edit the group name, description, initials, color, privacy, group icon, and cover photo. Initials and color are used as the group icon if you don't upload an image. (see image 1). • Rules — here you can add, edit, reorder, and delete your groups rules. Rules contain a title and an optional description. You can have up to 10. (see image 2). • Categories — here you can add, edit, reorder, and delete your groups categories. Categories contain a title, color, and an optional description. You can have up to 10. If you delete a category that contains posts, you can bulk migrate them to another category before deleting. (see images 3, 4, and 5). To access these features, you must be the admin of a group. I know that isn't you right now, but it will be soon enough! This gives you a peak of what the admin side of groups looks like.

@Sam Ovens to explain why, if you didn't see the thread I started in product support My community, as well as me, is tired of bouncing all over the place. A group for this, a community for that. It's exhausting, confusing, and a mess. My general community is men and women. And I have courses/programs that are specifically just women. We have conversations in there that are no business to anyone not in that course. Not to mention that often members are part of multiple offer...Happy bouncing yet again. And no, because I do want to have a platform for everyone to easily connect while being able to connect in a more closed environment without having to bounce between 5 groups... This is a deal breaker. I love the setup here, how tech is handled, courses are implemented - However Being able to not give access to something is the make or break of using another tool over loving skool.

@Sam Ovens sounds like my example didn't convince you to consider it 😅

Can categories be set to be private? I have a pretty good idea how I want to set up my new community, but I really will need a category/community channel or two to only be viewable to certain members.

I'd have the same question about the calendar. If it's possible to show some events based on access to a course. I'd do the access determination for categories the same way, based on access to a course.

@Griffin A. Hamilton to me it's actually quite simple and a full on deal breaker if not on the roadmap. My community, as well as me, is tired of bouncing all over the place. I love the setup here, how tech is handled, courses are implemted - However Being able to not give access to something is the make or break of using another tool over loving skool.

Is there a way to turn off the community in your Skool group?
