Year Compass
I filled The Year Compass out a few years ago and found it a helpful piece for reflection. Taking the time to reflect on what took place and what stays can be enlightening. https://yearcompass.com/gb/ https://yearcompass.com/#download I wish you, in our community, a peaceful end to 2025 and a glorious beginning to 2026, sparkled with love and compassion, and joy.
🥰
Gratitude & Season's Greetings
Dear Community as this year is coming to an end, @Nadene Canning and myself wanted to celebrate with you and share our gratitude with you! Sending you light in this 'in-between' time and we look forward to seeing you again in 2026! Warmly Sarah & Nadene *** “Even After All this time The Sun never says to the Earth, "You owe me." Look What happens With a love like that, It lights the whole sky.”―Hafiz ✨🌞🎇
Gratitude & Season's Greetings
Dearest @Sarah Santacroce & @Nadene Canning May your heavens & earth Sparkle 2026’s birth Continue to shine the skies Wherever each of us lies May you brighten our days In rainbow-like ways With fierce or soft complexity And possibly perplexity May you, with continued love and care leave nothing to spare; rumble through us with curiosity to bring about gentle reflexivity. Mindfulness and Sustainability at the Crossroads: Towards Mindfulness Curricula for Human and Planetary Wellbeing and Transformation
Over a decade ago I took the 8week course created by Jon Kabat-Zin on Mindfulness Based Stess Reduction and it has been a game changer. Here is a fabulous new article written by Christine Wamsler and her colleagues making clear linkages to the importance of cultivating a healthy inner world to be in true connection with each other, our communities and to nature. Here is an excerpt from the article: “Understanding the roots of today’s polycrisis points to the cultural narratives underlying modern societies. Scholars and practitioners increasingly identify a dominant social paradigm of separation or alienation as a key driver of today’s interconnected crises (Eisenstein 2013; Göpel 2016; Wamsler and Bristow 2022). This paradigm assumes that human thinking minds are distinct from feelings and bodIES, that people are separate from one another, that some are superior to others, and that humanity is separate and superior to the natural world (Scott et al. 2021). In modern societies, many people are increasingly unconscious of their emotions, bodily sensations, and deeper values, influenced by factors such as trauma, denial, digital distractions, and pervasive busyness. As a result, individual behavior is often driven by fear- or incentive-based motivations rather than by social, affiliative, or caring ones. Modern societies dominated by consumption, power, and achievement increasingly marginAlize values of care, connection, and affiliation. To make matters worse, these disconnections—from self, others, and nature—mutually reinforce each other, and disconnection from our environment mirrors and reinforces disconnection from ourselves (Hawken 2021; Wamsler and Bristow 2022). For instance, diminished body awareness impairs empathy, weakens social identity, and undermines a sense of meaning and belonging (Bristow et al. 2022; Scott et al. 2021). Today’s polycrisis is therefore also described as a crisis of perception or meaning, intrinsically linked to what has been……”https://rdcu.be/eRJFj
Further to the above, I appreciated the reference to the term/concept of reindigenize expressed in the article. https://medium.com/@aj.jeedigunta/what-it-really-means-to-reindigenize-your-life-and-what-it-doesnt-693d6afdcbe7
@Nadene Canning I appreciate these questions too and will take them forward with me in the new year, along with some another source which I will share when I find it
On December 11th, Jon Kabat-Zinn will speak at the University of Geneva to close the international summit United and Present, held December 9–11 under the auspices of the United Nations.
After two days at the Palais des Nations exploring the links between well-being, diplomacy, and human rights, this public conference will focus on: 🧭 “Mindfulness in a Changing World” 👉 The event livestream link is in the comments below Note: The link leads to a French UNIGE page, but the event is in English This event is coordinated by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, with Geneva University Hospitals and the University of Geneva – Faculty of Medicine, and supported by several partners including Nouveau Monde. 📺 I’ll be watching online! About MBSR:Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), has spent over 40 years bringing evidence-based mindfulness into healthcare. His work has transformed how professionals understand stress, suffering, and emotional regulation. Today, hospitals, universities, schools, and organizations worldwide use mindfulness to support resilience and well-being. At this conference, he’ll reflect on what it means to stay present amid complexity and how mindfulness can help manage emotional and professional overload. UNIGE and HUG are currently studying the benefits of mindfulness for students, caregivers, and patients. Moderation: Guido Bondolfi, Emeritus Professor, University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine Mara Arizaga, Head OHCHR Well-being Unit, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

@Nadene Canning You are one to get facts in. Did you know that you have two pleuras which protect each lung ? And that one of these can be removed and that we can still breathe? I found that out many years ago.

Sam Ovens is the creator of Skool - "always making it better"
There are over 200'000 communities on Skool and Sam, the creator (with the beard) creates a weekly video explaining all the platform updates and new services. When we created the InnerDevelopment@Work community @Sarah Santacroce was the one who did the research and recommended the Skool platform. So glad we chose Skool! The work they do to make everything run smoothly is AWESOME. Next year there are SO many cool things coming🤸‍♂️! If you want to create a community, make sure to use our link. We'll also be offering affiliate links to our members next year when we launch a paid tier of new services.
Excellent. Th. I love their outfits and their calm, cool way of explaining. I listened to a small part, skipped to the language - loved their pronunciation of French - :-) 🤩
