Scent Application???
Gentlemen, I know this is probably a complete NOOB question, but be that as it may I still must inquire" From my research I am aware there are basically 4 "Scent Spots" to use when applying. The Right/Left sides of the neck on the "carotid artery" thereabouts, or the "heat spot" for the "Lean In" whiff. And on each of the wrists for the "Greeting" whiff. My question is: With spray dispenser bottles, do you spray the wrists and then contort to rub them on your neck in the right spot? Or do you spray your neck and then touch your wrists to your neck without rubbing and bruising the scent as I've heard it be said? I know applying to much is bad form, and it is verboten to spray a $$$ cloud in the air and walk through it. Do you just do 1 spray on each index finger and then touch your opposite neck and wrist real quick? Any guidance is appreciated gentlemen.

I’m starting to get more comfortable with more sprays. Since I work in an enclosed environment I typically only spray 4-5x for work. One to each side of the neck and back of the neck and one to each wrist. I don’t spray on clothes for work but social activities I will add 2 sprays on clothes as well.

trying to wash out my language with a little less profanity and refrain from swearing too much… decided to challenge it today by wearing a bold, avant garde scent. as jeremy fragrance likes to call it, today’s scent is Mr. Fabulous by Tom Ford. this released back in 2017 and was purposely written to be both avant garde and utilize shock value as a marketing stance, as Tom Ford used to do with his brand. while the name suggests something that’s largely deconstructive and a bold counter to fragrances, the actual scent profile is somewhat mass-appealing and dare i say, a tad bit underwhelming. it’s definitely not your typical designer scent, as it blends leather and vanilla, with powdery, mature and herbal nuances. the opening notes are dry and herbal, a blend of clary sage, that transition to almond, vanilla, leather, and a slight buttery orris root, before descending into a woody, leather, amber and tonka dominated base. this scent is largely an herbal and leather blend, with a beautiful matte black bottle design. if you like the look of leather jackets, fast black cars and rainy neon nightlife, this scent is for you. this is definitely one of my favorite takes on leather, but i don’t give this higher than a 7/10 because of the atrocious price point, and while bold, it doesn’t last long enough on my skin, although i HAVE been using very carefully and conservatively on this sample, so using more might help lol. overall a great scent, just wish it was less expensive. fantastic layer with bitter peach.

Wore this the other day for work. I thought it was an excellent fragrance for when you don’t want a “loud” projection or to overwhelm the senses but still want to smell professional and “clean”. I agree it does have a baby wipe(ish) type of scent but the dry down made it worth it for me. It lasted a good 6hrs for me (closer to 8 as a skin scent) and I sprayed it 6-9x only on skin. It’s definitely over priced but it fit the role I wanted it for.
BOS Story Poll Series Question 2
The response to Question 1 showed just how strong the knowledge and passion run within this brotherhood. I truly appreciate every brother who took a moment to vote, reflect, and be part of this Level 8 journey toward Level 9. This next question continues the study. Your input isn’t just participation, it’s insight that helps shape understanding, respect, and growth within the fragrance community we’ve built together. If you see the poll, take a second to share your voice. Every answer matters, and I’m grateful to walk this path of learning with all of you. Thank you, brothers.

Personally enjoyment for sure. In my younger years, I sought the compliments and thought it was helping me socially. Now with age and maturity, I’ve learned how scent affects your mood and attitude. It has the ability to completely alter your day and any compliments are a bonus IMO.

Awesome pick up. I grabbed one last week as well for this summer.
SOTD: Parfums de Marly Layton
My PDM sampling continues tonight with Layton. Rich vanilla, woody, with a touch of fruit. Just a wonderful fragrance. Not too loud for the beginning of spring, especially on a chilly, rainy day like today. I have to say, I think I'm in trouble with PDM. Beautiful fragrances, each one I've tried so far.

Yeah PDM will put a good dent in your wallet if you’re like me. Try one: oh that’s good I’ll buy that. Try No 2…that’s really nice, I’ll buy that one too. I think I’m on 4 or 5 now.
