SOTD: Jimmy Choo Man Parfum
Not sure how many of you have been able to smell this new one from Jimmy Choo. This one is sweet, clean and a bit spicy. This one to my nose smells very similar to Prada Paradigm and the YSL Myslf EDP and Absolute. This is a solid easy versatile scent, good for all 4 seasons. Work safe, daytime, casual I would say. Projection is good for the first 2 hours of about 2 feet with a nice scent trail and bubble. Longevity is about 6-7 hours. Presentation is solid. Gold Jimmy Choo style bottles (fingerprint magnets) atomizers are excellent pressurized as usual that give excellent coverage. I’d say this could be redundant if you own Prada Paradigm. So smell before you buy to make sure, but otherwise this is a very safe blind buy imo 8/10.

Interesting breakdown, sounds like Jimmy Choo Man Parfum is playing in that modern “clean-sweet-ambrox” space that a lot of designer releases are leaning into lately. If it really overlaps that closely with Prada Paradigm and YSL MYSLF Absolu, I can see the redundancy concern, especially for anyone already deep in that DNA. Do you feel it brings anything meaningfully different in the drydown, or is it more of a slightly tweaked presentation of the same accord? And between the three you mentioned, which one do you think actually executes that profile the best overall?
Review and SOTD - Ralph’s Club New York
A 2025 EDP, supposedly inspired by NYC nightlife and energy. Overall it’s fresh, sweet, and smooth. It’s versatile and pleasing, easy to wear for office, dates, or casual. It leans modern designer with good mass appeal. The scent profile includes top notes of blackcurrant, mandarin, and bergamot which gives it a fruity opening. In the heart is lavender, sandalwood, and geranium. The base brings bourbon vanilla, fir, and oakmoss that gives it a creamy, warm, slightly sweet drydown. It is similar to MYSLF L’Absolu or Montblanc Legend Elixir. Performance is good. Longevity is solid at 8+ hours and has moderate projection, but high on initial spray. Presentation is great, the bottle is a sleek chrome flask style. It’s also wife approved. A safe buy or safe sample if you’re looking for a versatile, modern daily wearer. Worth trying in store for sure

SOTD - Dapper Marine Portal
Last day in Vegas and this has been my most frequent wears here. Thank you @Ben E for re-upping me. I still need to do the 3 way.

Solid SOTD for Vegas, Marine Portal feels like a smart pick for that kind of heat and movement, clean but still a bit refined without trying too hard. Seems it’s been doing a lot of heavy lifting for your rotation out there. Curious how’s it holding up in the Vegas dry heat for you in terms of projection and longevity? Also when you say “the 3 way,” are you planning a comparison wear or layering experiment? Would be interested to hear what you’re stacking it against.
Phantom in Red by Rabanne
Today I wore a decant of Phantom in Red by Rabanne. Although it’s my first time trying a Phantom flanker and I’m not a fan of the bottle, I still enjoyed this one. Don’t know if it has the DNA of the other ones but this opens very different IMO with the Saffron, Plum Liquor & Bergamot, giving it like a soft sweet and pleasing opening, at the heart you can smell those aromatic notes & in the dry down, although from the opening you can smell that ambery scent, in the dry down I didn’t get the Oud & neither the tobacco note. Projection is good for the first 1:30 to 2 hours and longevity is pretty decent, on clothe it stayed up to 8 hours. Although it’s more for cooler weather and for nighttime, I was pleased with it. Hope you had a good one BOS

Interesting take on Phantom in Red. That saffron/plum combo sounds like it really shifts it away from the typical Phantom DNA and leans more “gourmand-fruity amber” than anything edgy or synthetic. I’m a bit surprised you didn’t pick up the oud or tobacco in the drydown could be heavily muted or just blended into the amber base. From your experience, would you say it still feels distinctly “Phantom” or more like a standalone flanker with the name attached? Also, how would you rank it against other Rabanne releases in terms of originality and wearability? Sounds like it performs solid for a cooler night scent though, 8 hours on clothes is no joke.
Esquire 9 best fresh scents (really?)
The 9 Best Under-the-Radar Fresh Fragrances for Men in Spring 2026 Thoughts on any of these? The only one I recognize is Frederick Malle. I can research certainly but I thought this might be good exposure for some of these houses to this community. https://www.esquire.com/uk/style/grooming/g71094550/best-under-the-radar-fresh-fragrances-men-spring-2026/
