Walk through
Good evening all, so I have a walk through tomorrow that’s 2 acres and wooded. The customer wants it cleared for building a pole barn. They are ok with the trees being pushed to an area. They also want the stumps removed and pushed aside as well. My questions are this: would this 3-4 or 4-5 day job? Second, would having a track loader with forestry mulcher, stump bucket, and a grapple work for what needs done? Thanks in advance

@Russell Carraway I think it will work you just gotta try it. Don’t put too much money behind it until you see it hitting Hard caught my attention.
Other opportunities that take a long time
Well I’ve been doing a lot of research you guys should always check government jobs federal city and county DOT all these places offer jobs you probably won’t make as much money as you would on a residential or commercial property but it will keep you busy. You have to bid on them for federal you want to go to sams.gov and then for your local cities just go to open AI and ask how to get government county city land clearing jobs it’s not really going to be under mulch and you gotta look under land clearing most likely is gonna tell you mowing these jobs could take 36 months to a year to get, but they’re very big contracts. I’ll keep you busy through the year. You have to take your EIN and Done number to sign up with Sam’s.gov. There’s a lot of big contracts on there. You also want to have good insurance and Workmans comp. I think there’s a list of things that the government wants you to have to book jobs with them. I know it’s not big pain but it will always keep your machine busy. I’m pretty sure. This is just research that I’m doing that I am sharing with you guys and ladies if you have somebody sit at home to fiddle with it I really recommend you doing that. Also, I heard if you get a government contract before you buy your equipment I think they will exempt your taxes or if you owe land you can get your taxes exempt you’ll save around $8000 depending on the state I guess you’re from

If you don’t mind me asking, how much are you spending a day on Facebook? I’m bound to launch next month and I’m wanting to average $100 $150 a day. I might start out at $50 a day just to make sure I’m running the right campaign but within a week or two I’ll bump it up to the $100-$150.
Update
Good evening hope everybody’s having a blessed day. Just wanted to share what I got going on. I did my website on open. AI did not spend a dollar got approved for a brand new skid steer and mulcher with 60 days no payment and a 72 month zero interest which will keep my payments around $2000 a month. I’ve been doing a lot of research all online trying to keep my overhead as low as possible. I own a Semi truck so I’m going to use that and a gooseneck trailer to haul my equipment around when times are slow. I will jump in my truck and make money. The only reason I have not pulled the trigger as I’m trying to pay off all my credit cards so I am debt free when I start this and I have no overhead. If I am on the road, my wife will be helping me. She’s a good sales person. I know the first couple of jobs we probably are going to mess up on the quotes but we will live and learn. I read most of everybody’s comments trying to learn I really appreciate it.

How to shop around for equipment
I am 41 years old been in sales for over 25 years working at my dad‘s dealership off and on. these dealerships that sell equipment once your business do not seem desperate go in there with confidence go to multiple dealers compare have them give you a quote and then take that quote to the next dealership and tell them to beat it and then tell them they offered me 30 to 60 days no payment if they say they cannot help you with that. Tell them we’ll ask the finance company if this is possible that’s what the other dealership did remember it is not up to the guy that’s selling you. It’s who he is financing through equipment is not flown off the shelves right now just like everything else in America is very slow. it is a lot easier to get financed for equipment than it is a car. Because they look at that piece of equipment like an asset and you’re going to make money with it remember go to multiple dealers don’t be stuck on one brand beggars cannot be choosers and then tell them that the other dealership offered you better warranty if they could match that a good salesman will fight and try to get you the best deal. Also try to go to the bigger cities there they have a lot more leeway because they sell a lot more equipment with the finance companies. If you can get into a piece of equipment with 30 to 60 days, no payments that gives you time to book enough jobs and not feel the pressure Here’s some tips Tell each cell person I can’t decide between cat or case both of y’all give a good bargain and tell him to explain to you why you should pick his equipment over the other Don’t make a decision right than in there have them explain everything to you act dumb Just go in there and tell them I am looking for a mulching skid steer and have them explain everything to you the less you say the better Let your sales person or Dealer whoever you are talking to know that you are shopping around and going to check out other pieces of equipment Most cells reps want to run your Credit right away do not let them do that make them work for it
