I have a potential client who recently reached out to me with a 1 acre property that's completely undeveloped. She just purchased the lot (yesterday was her closing day) and now she's wanting to move forward with having the lot cleared. Her vision is to clear nearly everything from the middle of the wooded lot, leaving only the trees around the property's border and a few mature trees throughout for shade. The rest of the property will become grass and will be used for recreational purposes. The property is currently a mix of moderate to dense vegetation, vines, brambles, and mature trees. I'm in the process of drafting an estimate for her now but wanted some advice as to what machine(s) might be best for the job. I haven't been able to visit the site yet, but have evaluated it via Google Maps Street View so far. I plan to work with the client to have the largest trees removed safely by a 3rd party as that's not really my wheelhouse. Some smaller diameter trees could be mulched but the trees are probably 40+ feet tall in most cases. I'll be renting a Takeuchi TL12v2 with a 62" mulcher. Given the height of the trees, should I plan to also rent a small excavator to help with felling and moving the trees for processing or do you think it's possible to push the trees over using the Tak? Or as another option, should I just stick with clearing the dense vegetation and leave all the taller stuff for the other company?
