YouTube Ad: Audience Segments
When I set up my Ad, I created an Audience, which could have several segments (if I remember correctly). I basically added 4 keywords (Figma, Notion, Discord, Webflow). These are web apps, so I'm targeting people interested in these things. Are these similar to keywords? I think these are logically ORs (Figma OR Notion OR Discord OR Webflow). Is it possible to do a logical AND (Figma AND Notion And Discord AND Webflow)?

What a lively crowd you have here 🤣
Targeting a smaller area raised my CPC – what am I missing?
Hey everyone, I’m running a Google Ads campaign for a local business. Initially, I had the location targeting set to the entire city, and the average CPC was decent. Recently, I narrowed down the location to a specific radius around the business (a few kilometers), and after doing that, I noticed the average CPC increased significantly. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could narrowing the location targeting be the reason for the CPC increase? Or are there other factors that might have caused this? Would really appreciate any insights or advice. Thanks in advance!

Does the previous radius include lower income areas, or even less populated areas (fewer homes and fewer businesses)? Think about what other marketers might do. If they're all focusing on the same area, it would certainly increase the demand, drive up the cost. Also the type of people in this smaller area might be targeted more, on average, due to any number of other demographics, like income, interest, etc. I haven't been doing this long enough to give you a good answer, but some other factors: - day of the week (do weekends cost more than weekdays?) - physically IN the location vs interested in the location? (there's a setting for this, I believe, and if you change it, could have a significant impact on results) - complete randomness? I don't think these things are a science, I'm sure there are all sorts of strange anomalies that happen. I experience bugs in the Google Ads interface all the time, in addition to many strange/unclear numbers. It sounds like you made a very minimal change (just reduced the radius a bit), are you sure there weren't any other changes you made that could contribute? - Random competition: if another advertiser decided to turn on or increase their ads, this could result in a noticeable increase.
My views are going down? Do I get refunded? Where do I see this data?
When my ad first launched, about $10 was spent, 15k impressions, and the YouTube video shot up to 5k views. Not bad. But then, when I looked at the YouTube page, the 5k views went down to about 100 (at about 7:00 in this video, you can see:) https://www.youtube.com/live/LPDTw9JjAnM When I refresh, they go back to 5k. Hours later, they were at 2k. Now they're at 478. Apparently this is normal. I realize there are bots, and Google might be removing "illegitimate" views. If I don't even get the view count on YouTube, shouldn't I be credited in Google Ads? I paused the campaign, and ended up with $90 spent, 1.25k clicks, 87k impressions, 418 views (which is similar to the 478 views on the video, I guess), and 3.9k "interactions". For these in-stream skippable ads, an interaction is a click or a view? But the interaction view duration is shorter than the 30 second view that YouTube uses? The problem is, on my landing page, which basically only has a Part 2 video, that Part 2 video only got 13 new views. So 1,250 people clicked my ad, and only 13 watched Part 2? Seems fishy, like these are bots or misclicks. Sure, some people might click the ad and immediately change their mind, but 1,250 -> 13 seems a little crazy.

Or, someone tries to click Skip, and accidentally clicks on the link? But I don't think it works like that, doesn't a misclick just pause the video? I think the button/link is in a different location.
Bid decrease capped at 90%
I am trying to apply a bid adjustment of -100% to exclude an audience. So, I attempt to decrease the bid by 100%, but I receive an error message saying, "Value is lower than required minimum value." Apparently, the maximum decrease allowed is 90%. However, I can increase the bid by 100% without any issue. I am facing the same problem when trying to exclude weekends by applying a 100% decrease. Is this correct?

@Martin Jan Hoekstra that's crazy. The Google Ads platform is so confusing, bad UX. Doesn't this drive you mad? I was able to do -100% on mobile placements (these seem to be mostly bots?), but after it appeared to work, I couldn't find any visible verification of that adjustment in their system, so I have no idea if it did anything. I tried to fill out a help ticket via the Google Ads [ ? Help ] button, and their form was making me crazy (waaaay too many unnecessary fields). I finally got to the end, clicked Submit, and it says, "Please try again later" (and later, still didn't work).
