Bid decrease capped at 90%
I am trying to apply a bid adjustment of -100% to exclude an audience. So, I attempt to decrease the bid by 100%, but I receive an error message saying, "Value is lower than required minimum value." Apparently, the maximum decrease allowed is 90%. However, I can increase the bid by 100% without any issue. I am facing the same problem when trying to exclude weekends by applying a 100% decrease. Is this correct?

Hi Joey, First of all, thank you so much for your detailed answer! I wasn’t aware that smart bidding overrides bid adjustments. The thing is, and this is why I think it might be a bug, the message I get says the percentage must be 100 or less. However, when I enter any value between 91 and 100 (I’m attaching a screenshot), I receive an error message. Only 90% or below is accepted. Thanks again for your help!

It is indeed a bit frustrating sometimes, Michael. Especially because I’ve created a support ticket three times already, but nothing gets done about it! I think I made the first ticket about a year ago. Good point, Joey. I’ll give Google Ads Editor a try. But like you said, if it doesn’t really make much difference when using smart bidding (which I do), then it probably isn’t worth the effort. Thanks!
