PMax campaign getting fake clicks, bot conversions & big discrepancy between Ads and Analytics (local preschool website)
Running a Performance Max campaign for a local preschool/kindergarten website, and I’m facing serious data issues: • Tons of invalid/bot clicks with no real engagement. • Fake conversions showing in Google Ads (no actual form fills or calls). • Huge mismatch between Google Ads and GA4 — Ads shows almost double the traffic compared to Analytics. Everything in GTM and conversion tracking seems set up correctly. I’ve already: • Excluded suspicious locations/devices. • Used negative keywords in asset groups. • Reviewed landing page & tags. Still getting weird traffic and fake conversions. Anyone else dealing with this in local service PMax campaigns? Any proven ways to reduce invalid traffic or get cleaner reporting?

Thanks for the insight! @Alexander Sanivsky I actually started with a Search campaign first until I hit the conversion threshold, then moved to PMax, which initially performed well. But after a while, I started facing the issues I mentioned. That’s why I decided to analyze the search terms coming from the PMax campaign to identify the top-performing queries and build a new Search campaign based on those keywords. I also started tracking offline conversions through an Excel sheet to get a clearer view of real leads and closed deals. Right now, the main challenge I’m struggling with is WhatsApp message conversions. The sales team closes a lot of deals from WhatsApp chats, so I’m using it as a conversion goal — but I can’t really control or evaluate the lead quality the same way I do with form submissions. Still trying to find a reliable way to qualify those WhatsApp leads more accurately.
Targeting a smaller area raised my CPC – what am I missing?
Hey everyone, I’m running a Google Ads campaign for a local business. Initially, I had the location targeting set to the entire city, and the average CPC was decent. Recently, I narrowed down the location to a specific radius around the business (a few kilometers), and after doing that, I noticed the average CPC increased significantly. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could narrowing the location targeting be the reason for the CPC increase? Or are there other factors that might have caused this? Would really appreciate any insights or advice. Thanks in advance!
Smart campaign VS Search campaign
Hey everyone, I’m trying to understand the differences between Smart Campaigns and Search Campaigns for local services businesses. I’ve learned a lot about both, but I’m not sure which one would be more effective or suitable for a local service provider
How to Track Call Button Conversions from Map Packs in My Search Campaign?
I created a search campaign and I want to track the call button as a conversion from map packs. Any tips on how to set this up?

@Bivuti Vussion Mallik Thank you, Bivuti, for your detailed response. However, I've already linked my GMB profile and set up "Call from Ads," but the numbers are not showing in the "Call" asset; they only appear in the campaign clicks types report, as shown in the screenshot I just uploaded.
