🏊‍♂️ Deep Dive. Swim Set Structure 🏊‍♂️
Thanks Dave for dropping this one in the comments about swim sets will have a chat through it tonight on the call but here is a little poll first Does the structure of your swim set actually matter? Or is it all just about logging laps? Let's poll it, since most of us here are swimmers (or at least tri to be) Vote below and spill your thoughts. Extra points for funny comments below of course. Watch/Bike Computer Data
Hey all, happy Friday! I’m interested to know what data everyone runs on their main screen on their bike computer and/or running watch? And does it change from training to race day? Hope everyone has a good long weekend! Happy training! 😁

Bike Computer (Garmin Edge): Timer, Distance, Speed, Cadence, TOD, HR, average cadence grade% (next to GPS screen if needed so its only one button click to the map) Watch: Garmin D2 Mach 1 - Pace Speedo for intervals, lap distance, lap time, HR (do have a 2nd screen for total distance, TOD) Trainer (Laptop MacBookPro): Run TP virtual on the focus mode so its just the interval chart and nothing else. Way to anal to change anything on race day 😂

@Bradley Twyford I think it really depends on how you use the information. I’m a big data guy, but I don’t look at speed or numbers and think “I need to go harder.” I use the data more to qualify what I’m feeling and put some context around how the session is going.

I’d love to see more on mindset and mental skills, especially approaches that work for athletes who sit a bit outside the usual motivational or mental mould.

Garmin power targets
Anyone had this issue before and got a fix? For some reason power targets from training peaks aren’t syncing to garmin? They still sync to wahoo for the trainer and run pace targets work? Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the apps but no joy 🙃

Is this different to how you normally do it, or is this a new error with your usual setup? I had heaps of issues with Garmin–TP and Wahoo–TP in the past, and ended up just driving the trainer from my laptop using the TP Virtual app. Are you controlling it through your bike computer, or something else? What device are you using?

Yeh that's an odd one, I know the edge can be real finicky with inputs, I wonder if it updated recently and it threw something off? Could go back a version and see it that works?
Question for greggo
What is the best way to go about dealing with missing sessions. Sometimes life just simply gets in the way whether it is work related or kids have a bad night or whatever it is. There is a guilt that comes with missing sessions?

This one’s pretty personal for me. I tend to be a bit all-or-nothing. Even if I’m not training, when work is kicking my butt (like right now, I haven’t trained properly for a couple of weeks), I try to do something adjacent. I’ll make sure the bike maintenance is up to scratch, bottles are cleaned, gear is put away and charged — just removing friction for when life lets go again. I still get the guilt from missing sessions, but it helps knowing I’m at least taking a small step in the right direction.
