WELCOME
Welcome to Greggo's Tri Chat! 🚀🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Hi everyone, and a huge welcome to the group! I'm Greg McDermott, your coach with Koa Sports, and I'm thrilled you've joined us here on Skool. This community is all about connecting our athletes—whether you're a beginner building your first tri, chasing age-group podiums, qualifying for Worlds, or simply loving the swim-bike-run lifestyle. It's a space to share training wins (and those tough sessions), ask questions, get feedback, discuss races, and support each other on the journey to better performance. A few quick things to get started: - INTRODUCE YOURSELF in the comments below or in the "New Members" thread—tell us your name, where you're based, your main goals for 2026, and what you're most excited (or nervous) about right now. Let's get to know each other! - Jump into discussions, post your training logs, race reports, or questions—your input drives this place! - I am piloting this as part of your coaching subscription over the next few months, so please share your feedback, ideas, and what you'd love to see here. We're building this together as a supportive tribe, and I can't wait to see the energy, breakthroughs, and friendships that come from it. You've got big goals ahead—let's smash them as a team. Drop a quick intro or wave hello below. Looking forward to chatting! Greggo Again, WELCOME to the team
CAIRNS IRONMAN
Hey Team! First up, a huge congrats to everyone who raced in Cairns over the weekend. What an event! We had some unbelievable results across both races, and the support on course was simply next level. A massive thanks to the 9 of you who travelled up to Cairns just to support your teammates. It’s amazing to see the relationships that have been built over many years come to life in person. On behalf of all those who raced, a huge THANK YOU. Adam Hillis!! Off to Kona!! Adam has had a goal for years to hit the hot rock, and after a disappointing result in Da Nang last month, he bounced back brilliantly on his home turf and got the job done. His result placed him 9th overall which is unbelievable. We can’t wait to see him racing in Kona in October! Thanks again to everyone up there who got behind each other, ending wheels, giving lifts, buying coffee & beers, and generally backing the shit out of everyone in RED. Koa Sports is now the 5-time back-to-back Ironman Cairns Champions Greggo

UPDATE
Hi Team, Sorry about last weeks call. Had a few asking and unfortunately we simply didn't have an ounce of internet here for some reason. I did do a post but not even that went through. This weekend is Ironman Cairns. Koa Sports has a team of 53 athletes racing across both events and a further 12-13 athletes heading north as support crew along with 4 of our coaches. It promises to be another huge weekend where we are looking to go 5 back to back in Cairns as a group. There won't be a skool call again this week but next week we will be back on. I want to re-invigorate the group to ensure you are all getting maximum value from it week to week and it is enhancing your training and racing. Good luck to all racing in Cairns and we will all catch up next week. Greggo

DOING CAIRNS 70.3 or IRONMAN?
Team. These guys at Pump & Pedals are the best in Cairns with pre race service, bike builds post travel etc. they will build your bike, store the bag and re box/bag it for your departure. I’d recommend booking in early as they always book out in race week.
