Speed tool/osso substitute
OK team, for those of you that were keen to get a speed tool but weren't keen to spend $600 to get a pair I think I have a potential substitute. I can tell right now that the grip/handle on the official speed tool will be a lot better than this but this should work for most of the bigger movements. I'll buy one of these myself to test it out but it may be a viable option. and its only $69. I'll keep you posted https://www.bluefitness.com.au/products/2-5kg-weight-plate?srsltid=AfmBOoqSFNYD6WUEJR4_IERvpVC2PLOClWn0Pupk8_L4tRD0TdAZ5NyR

Interesting! Will be curious to hear your thoughts.
Osso Chat!
Yo Aspen Peeps! Been hankering to try the Osso Tool course in here! Thinking heaps about coordination and posture and balance so I think I need to check it out! Where can I can I get me one of those Osso Tool / Speed Tool things? Is the main online store the best way to go? Keen to get monkeying around a bit more 🐒🐒🐒

@Emma Robson thanks for your detailed reply! Sounds tricky! And I don't really want their course cause I want yours!!🥲 Will keep an eye out in for a potential speed tool class! And in the mean time I've been using 1kg and 2kg plate weights with holes in them. Not perfect as it's harder to control, but it does kinda give you the same feeling! Thanks! 🐒
Last nights loose arms class
Here is the recording of last nights class. This session is focussed on reducing tension through the whole body through coordination and arm swinging actions. If you are feeling sore, tight, frustrated or stuck in any way this session is for you. It's a full body shake out that gets you feeling light and loose. You will need a basketball and a little bit of space to move around. And as always I'd love to hear how it

Thank you for the prompt to to check this out, Glenn! Amazing session! Totally gonna come back to this one. 👌🐍 I'm pretty tense and sore and exhausted today and usually I wouldn't choose to do an active movement practice, but after this I feel really loose and good. The ground-up approach was really cool, and the arm swing at the end felt SO good. I also loved the focus on elasticity! Need more of that in my movement practice. Two quick questions: - During arms swings, are your shoulders externally rotated, neutral, or internally rotated when they're at the back? - If my shoulder clunks when I'm doing these movements, do you think I need to go a bit easier or reduce my range of motion? My right should is particularly imbalanced and can be clunky.

I'm super late to the party here... but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents anyways! My biggest challenge is definitely increasing my strength and growing my movement practice SUSTAINABLY alongside my chronic pain and chronic stress and chronic health stuff (and alongside all the million projects and demands in my life!). That being said, in the last few years since I've joined aspen, I've had a lot of success in growing my movement practice, and connecting some dots to work WITH my body and to change up chronic tension patterns that have been holding me back and weighing me down. These days I'm feeling really good, and I don't think I've ever been this healthy and this able! You both @Emma Robson @Glenn Robson have definitely contributed towards this. So thank you! I really love that your practices meet people where they're at and allow for room to grow and play. My interest in movement started with yoga because it demands careful attention and softness and mindfulness (all of which I really needed), and I love that you integrate these ideas into your teachings, while also freeing yourself from the more regimented doctrine of yoga and other traditional movement practices. For me, there needs to be space to slow down and breathe and nail something on a basic level before I can turn the volume up and go harder. Your classes are always so curious and free and accessible, so they definitely support my movement goals, and I love that they always push me outside of the box or make me ask new questions.

Thanks for the class today @Emma Robson !! I went electric go-karting on the weekend and had a few big crashes into the track's side barriers. As a consequence, my neck and upper spine have been super achey yesterday and today... but this class really helped! Just had to take some easy options and scale my movements down a little and take some breaks. Love that your classes are so customisable to different bodies and different days :)
