Rooted Daily Dose: Opening & Releasing
Today I am a little late getting the daily does out I am at an intensive somatics training at Strozzo Institute. Opening and releasing are not opposites. They are partners. When we hold โ€” breath, tension, old stories โ€” the body organizes around protection. When we gently release โ€” jaw softening, shoulders dropping, exhale lengthening โ€” space becomes available. Space for aliveness. Space for choice> Space for connection. Within the Neuro-Somatic Integrationโ„ข spiral, this is the living edge between Regulate and Reimagine. Regulation creates enough safety to release. Release creates enough space to open. And in that opening, something new becomes possible. Aliveness is not something we chase. It is what naturally emerges when we are no longer bracing. Sometimes opening feels like expansion. Sometimes it feels like grief leaving the body. Sometimes it is simply one deeper breath than before. ๐ŸŒฑ Micro Practice: Open & Release (3โ€“5 Minutes) 1. Stand or sit and feel your feet grounded. 2. Inhale gently through the nose. 3. Exhale slowly and let one place in your body soften โ€” jaw, shoulders, belly. 4. Roll your shoulders back and widen across your collarbones. 5. Ask: What becomes available if I soften 5% more? Notice warmth. Tingling. Space. Or even resistance. All of it is information. Reflection Where are you bracing today? What would it mean to release just enough to feel more alive?

Thank you for sharing. As I worked through the micro practice I noticed how much I was bracing in my hips. I have done alot of work to release bracing the last few months and awareness of the bracing had not yet reached my hips. Thank you for this post!
The line "But the earth remembers every step we take"
Todayโ€™s song is Weโ€™re Still Here โ€“ Native Hip-Hop Anthem of Survival, Memory & Unbroken Lineage. This isnโ€™t just a songโ€”itโ€™s a declaration. A reminder that survival is not passive. Itโ€™s cultural memory. Itโ€™s language carried forward. Itโ€™s bodies, stories, and ancestors refusing erasure. โ€œWeโ€™re still hereโ€ is both history and present tense. Today it feels like:Lineage.Resilience.Truth-telling.Continuance. In a world that moves fast and forgets easily, music like this brings us back to what endures. What song connects you to lineage or something larger than yourself? Drop it below. ๐ŸŽถโœจ

Great song. I love the connection to the earth in the song as well as the message. Your post brought a song that I first heard in a women's circle I attended. It brought a sense of my connection to the women of my family line and a sense of my connection to the earth as well. It was an expansive experience. Whenever I listen again it brings back the feeling of connection.
