300+ Cold DM's - Here are the MEANEST replies I got
Over the past few weeks I've sent over 300 cold DMs to strangers. Below are the 3 meanest replies I got. For context: the 300 doesn't include follow up messages (multiple 300 by 2 or 3) or fellow Ronin (I consider Ronin warm even though I'd never talked to them before). Before I started DMing I was SUPER anxious about how people would react to my cold pitch. I imagined an inbox full of "Efff you!", "Kiss my @$$" and untrue comments about my mother. These fears were blown up further because I was using my personal FB profile. If I really cheesed someone off it was possible they could DM my wife, family, or friends. A scary thought for my inner adaptive child. With these fears in mind I tried to stack the deck in my favor. 1) I reminded myself all these worst case scenarios are just thoughts. They hadn't actually happened and, while possible, were unlikely. 2) I used Travis' techniques for making the outreach as personal as possible. I’d spend a minute looking at someone’s profile for something to relate to before DMing. However, some people didn't have much info on their socials - so there were still a lot of people who got a generic (but nice) message. What was the end result? How mean were folks to a perfect stranger when they had the chance? Here are the 3 meanest replies I got from my 300+ cold DMs: 1: "O ok That's interesting No thanks though" 2: "Perhaps but it depends on what you are trying to sell me ." And the very meanest thing someone said to me… 3: "I'd like to drop the conversation. have a great day 🙂" I could tell you what I’ve learned from this experience, but… It’d be more fun to hear what you think. Tell me your thoughts in the comments?

Haha that's awesome. It's never as bad as we build it up in our minds. Side rant: One thing I HATE is seeing people post weird flexes they do to people trying to cold message. Like messing with them and insulting them and then trashing them in a post posting screenshots and such. So it's a bad pitch - they're probably just trying to feed their family. Can't believe people spend their day bullying people like that. Anyway, awesome post!
Timely for Today's "Big Money in Old Courses" Call
Asked a current client this (screenshot). Looking to potentially license one of his courses to another client who sends half a billion emails a month. Sharing for accountability :)

Looks like an amazing opportunity. Nice job!
About Referrals
Do you guy's offer a flat fee or a percentage of the take for your referral partners? What about a flat fee...How much? If a percentage...what's a good number? I want it to be enticing but not so overly generous that it severely affects the bottom line.

I think I remember Travis and Tony talking about a % up to a certain cap and I like that idea. Like 10% up to $10,000 so the referrer can get $10k out of the deal but only if it ends up being a good partner
After 5 months of Ronin… here are my current thoughts
Since the group started I’ve tried a lot of things and lost my way a lot of times… I’ve tried to whack a bunch of moles… And made myself frustrated and unhappy in the process. So, I’ve spent a few weeks figuring out what I want to be when (if) I grow up. I narrowed it down to 3 key questions to help guide myself. And 3 sub-questions under each of them. Here’s how I’m looking at things at the moment… = = = = = = = = = = = = (1) What assets do I WANT to own or control? I want to own and control assets I like to have. (a) Is it EXCLUSIVE? If it’s something generic or trendy that can be easily duplicated by others or found elsewhere, I don’t want to own it. (b) Does it generate ONGOING REVENUE? If it’s one-time money, that’s too close to being a job for me and doesn’t seem like an asset. (c) Can I easily DUPLICATE it? I want to be able to duplicate it in other niches for other dope people. = = = = = = = = = = = = (2) What do I WANT to do? I don’t want to operate by “should” or “have to”. [edited to add this] If they want me to do what they want instead of benefitting from what I do best and that I WANT to do... they want to be my boss. No thanks. (a) Do I LOVE it? There are very few things I love to do. And I’ve loved them for years. There are always new wrinkles, but I know what they are. (b) Am I really GOOD at it? If I love it, but haven’t shown mastery… watch out. (c)Is it VALUABLE to anyone but me? It’s got to create money, fun, and fulfillment for others for them to want to be involved. = = = = = = = = = = = = (3) Who do I WANT to partner with? I want to do magical shit with fun people. (a) Do I RESPECT and TRUST them? This is personal preference. There are a lot of fucking people I don’t like, and a lot I do. I know the difference. (b) Do they offer something UNIQUE and AMAZING? This is based on my personal opinion. If I don’t think it’s cool, I probably don’t want to be a part of it. (c) Do other people already CARE?

Been having similar thoughts lately so you’re not alone. My head has been spinning for a few years now. Time to figure out what I actually want
INTERVIEW: From Hair Pulling Agency to Licensing Freedom
@Rebekah Duron ran an agency focused on Martial Arts Schools. She helped fill their classes. What could go wrong? A LOT! But she fixed it in an unusual way. Press play and find out how she solved the problems that suck all the fun out of agencies... And how her story could be a NATIONWIDE or WORLDWIDE opportunity for you. Whether you run an agency or NOT! (This interview is also archived in the Classroom for ya.) Rooting For You, Travis PS I'd like to do more of these interviews for you because there's a lot of GENIUS bottled up in Ronin. Please sound off if you got an AHA or takeaway. Your feedback EN-COURAGES more folks to give interviews and share. PPS @Rebekah Duron thank YOU soooo much for taking time away from kids, pigs and chill-out time to do this for us! You are so fun to do interviews with too!

Wow wow wow, thank you so much @Rebekah Duron for sharing. This was so insightful and helpful. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who went crazy trying to make it work as a "business savior" agency model. Funny enough that Travis mentions hot tubs as his example cause he probably knows this is what I should be doing haha. This licensing idea could be the missing piece of how I can work with other hot tub business owners. I could not make the done for you model work, but I could potentially license out the things that have been working for me.

@Travis Sago What I’m working through at the moment is that so much of what I do is personal - my face on video, emails written in my voice and my own experiences, tailored to the specific brands and products that I sell. So I’m trying to make it repeatable but every time I try to make it generic, the results tank
