📍Where is everyone from?📍
Hello Facilitators👋 I'm really curious about where everyone is from. I'd love to make this a mega post where we can see how diverse the Facilitator Club community is. Who knows, you might find a lot more people in your area than you thought! Once I have lots of answers on this post, I want to make a nice graph!

1.5 hour strategy workshop - £1k
Hi all, I thought i'd share an interesting workshop I ran recently - hopefully it's helpful for someone else who has a similar challenge or brief! The client is a large charity and this was their brief: Produce a short vision statement for our future digital fundraising and engagement and the required transformation over our strategy period (they obviously shared context of their org strategy etc). I split this up into two stages: 1) Vision & 2) Required Transformation. Here are the exercises I ran: 1️⃣ Vision ➡️ Lightning Demos (this helped us focus on the market and the team created some really great How Might Wes). We clustered these to use as stimulus for the next exercise. ➡️ Vision Statement Drawing. People drew their vision statement and presented back to the group. I was mindful that if we asked people to write them they would get caught up in the language rather than the overall concepts. We asked them to share their vision and gathered the main themes. 2️⃣ Required Transformation ➡️ We then essentially did a Lightning Decision Jam which I don't need to explain! This was a fun one to run but I was very worried about timings, we did get everything done on time though which was a relief! I was constantly talking about pace and how it's going to feel like everything is going WAY too fast before and during the workshop and I think that helped a lot! They just could not get people together for longer but all worked out ok! I've had some really positive feedback from the client and recently ran a training session for them too so hoping to run more sessions with them next year 😁 Shout if you have any questions! 😀

If not facilitation then what?!
Good Morning everyone, As I was watching the various videos and I think specifically the 5-1-6 video I noted that there was suggestion individuals do not really promote themselves as facilitators, that there is usually something else that they do or offer instead. So my question is, do you promote yourself as a facilitator and if not, how do you promote yourself? What tools/techniques do you use to get yourself those facilitation pieces of work? I look forward to hearing from you.

@Michael McShane they're a very odd bunch. Nothing against young people creating great content, but these guys are using cookie cutter scripts with zero experience.

@Amanda Witman I think it very much depends on the market you're in as well. I often work with Engineers and Manufacturers so have to adapt.
Design Thinking Slide-Deck + Full 2 Hour Session Recording
Hey there! My team and I just launched a 2-hour, step-by-step Design Thinking video + slide deck + resources, all for free! If you've ever wanted to run a Design Thinking session for your clients/team but didn't quite know how it should look, here you go! This video was super difficult and expensive to produce, so the only thing I ask is that if you find this useful, please share it, leave a comment (on youtube) or a like, or maybe... all of those things??? It helps us to know whether we should make more things like this or not. The slide deck + other resources: https://go.ajsmart.com/designthinking Enjoy the video! ----> https://youtu.be/J64VamE8LdE?si=IScLoXgZ--8CaFWv Cheers, Jonathan

@David Robertson That sounds like a great place to do a workshop. Can you share more about how many people, how it went, what you learned by doing it?

@Dawn Dawson Good question
Brand Workshop & Concept Workshop
Been a super interesting week. I got to try out some of the brand workshop suggestions earlier in the week. The 'if the brand were...' exercises as icebreakers worked well. From there the GV 3-hour Brand Sprint was used. The brand personality sliders and audiences exercises were the ones that resonated most. For anybody using them, careful on the brands either side of the sliders. In the latter part of the week, I facilitated a 'Concept Workshop' to help a customer ideate on how to build a new PS product suite, iteself a bunch of workshops wrapped into a brand. Used many of the #AJ&Smart design sprint tools. I added a bunch of 'canvases/cards and exercises to help the customer pinpoint: Audiences, GTM canvas, Silent Note Taking, New Product Factsheet and Experiments to run to bring the new experience to life. For those doing something similar, the learning here was that thinking about the GTM, tactics to sell and experiments to run grounded the attendees in reality and helped make informed / practical choices. Very basic example attached. Have a great weekend all.

Do you find when you do a Brand Workshop that the people in the room are able to articulate all the parts you need to bring together a Brand Strategy, or is it sometimes a case of them working them out there and then?
