Hi all! My name is Caterina a.k.a. Cat (pronouns: she/her) and really excited to connect with fellow facilitators! I just joined AJ&Smart's Workshopper Master program and am already blown away by how this is going to amplify my skills and offerings. And I'm excited to continue sharing with and learning from you all in this community as well. In my full-time role, I'm a national program director and facilitator for anti-bias and DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) education programs across the US. I'll soon be shifting roles to lead change management. In my side hustle that I'm launching this year, I'm a DEI facilitator, consultant & speaker that focuses on shifting org culture through systems work, strategic planning & mapping, and change management. I've been facilitating for a few years now and absolutely love it, so I'm excited to have found this community. I'm originally from Dominican Republic and currently based out of Orlando, FL in USA with my partner and two Golden Retrievers. Big foodie and cook over here, so I'm always happy to talk food and recipes. Excited to get to know folks here, and happy to connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/caterinamrodriguez/

Hey all! Very excited to be here in the Facilitators Club. Makes me happy to see already so many people from the Workshopper Master Community but also a lot of new faces who are interested in facilitation! I have a background in architecture and am located in Belgium. Interested in anything that has to do with facilitation, architecture, our behavior in buildings, workplaces and how that affects our mental health, productivity, collaboration and so on. Currently doing more research about it so if you know any podcasts, articles, books, people, ANYTHING 😂 please let me know! PS: I'm also a beauty and the beast fan and I can sing every word to 'Be Our Guest', but only in Dutch (with facial expressions). Working on the English version at the moment. Take care and I'll see you around!

Hello Facilitators👋 I'm really curious about where everyone is from. I'd love to make this a mega post where we can see how diverse the Facilitator Club community is. Who knows, you might find a lot more people in your area than you thought! Once I have lots of answers on this post, I want to make a nice graph!

Hi, I'm Isabella. I'm from Colombia and living in Chicago. In university I did Graphic Design, mostly interested in illustration, packaging (and surprisingly to me at that time - I was seriously thinking I wouldn't like it) UX/UI. I first learned about facilitation and workshops when I graduated and was very lost and unsure on how to go forward. I found it so fun and interesting, but to be honest it took me two more years before I decided to give it a shot. Now, I recently did the Design Sprint Masterclass and I'm excited to start workshopping!

Hello community. I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. My training is eclectic, I have a degree in international trade; Actor; Mago and for a few years I have been training in topics such as Innovation, Agile Methodologies, design thinking and I am studying the career of ontological coach. My interest in becoming a facilitator and generating networks. My weakness is that I don't have a very good command of the English language, but I always find alternatives to understand. I read the book SPRINT by Jake Knapp (in Spanish...) and I am open to talks in Spanish. Thank you so much

hi guys, Some of you know me from the Workshopper Master community, some not. So I choose to introduce myself as this community grows so fast and I am happy to be here! Here is my video and you can find me on Linkein posting almost daily about exercises used in workshops and trainings. I started on top of my part-time corporate job freelancing as well and still learning how to do marketing and how to find clients that need my help. So the experience I have, (more than 200 workshops in the last 2 years) and learning now the "how to find people who need me" part :) I am happy to connect with you!

It's great to be accepted into this community. I look forward to learning from you all. Besides the Workshopper playbook, and Sprint. What are your favorite facilitator development resources? Also, is the paid Master Class provide the value worth the price of admission?

Hi everyone! I'm Alex, I'm originally from Latin America but I live in The Netherlands and work as a Service Designer. I'm currently taking the Facilitation Fundamentals Course (had to take that deal!) because I want to be better at engaging with stakeholders, help them reach consensus on services and other issues and add value to the company I work for by leading productive meetings. Very excited to be here and learn from you all! PS: I'm a huge fan of GIFs

Hello there! I'm brand new to Facilitator Club and of course felt compelled to diligently follow the suggested activities (who doesn't love activities right?!) and write a little introduction to myself and how I have come to be in this wonderful place with all of you wonderful people. Some career/work-related facts and stats: - I have worked for 1 company my whole career (17 years and counting!) - I have held 5 different 'job titles' in that time but in reality have probably done 10+ roles - Most of my roles have been IT-related, from the helpdesk, through software development and PM'ing to Head of Data and Analytics and all in the UK arm of the company - My current role is where I pivoted slightly from IT and moved into digital transformation across the global supply management function Some me-related facts and stats: - I am super creative and have an inordinately long list of hobbies - I can't get enough of learning about new things, and I LOVE hearing other people talk about the things they know and explain them to me with passion. Like their love for their subject is like a song for me. - I am a mother of 2, age 5 and under which makes work-life balance... interesting but has lead me to have a strong word with myself and make sure that the work I do (and need to do for myself) is something I really love and that really speaks to my values of connection, making a difference to people, making them feel valued and moving them forward. - I work from home (with all its pros and cons) which is near Manchester, UK What brings me to this wonderful place? When I returned back from maternity leave to my current role and didn't settle back into the daily grind I knew it was time to seriously rethink about what my values, passions and strengths were and start on a proper journey towards them - and although I have never had any official job title of facilitator, or coach, or workshopper or anything like that the areas that I always find myself drawn to and the experiences I remember most fondly generally link back to the beginning of projects, or starting committees, or leading groups on a short-term project (basically, new shiny things at the beginning of their life).

I love running workshops. And I'm delighted to stumble my way into this club filled with other people who do too! I've been doing facilitation of one kind of another for a long time now. I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, and I'm on a mission to master Hybrid workshops. For work, I'm an engagement lead at Red Hat, and I'm currently the maintainer and product owner of the Open Practice Library I never really know what to write in these sorts of things. if you're curious, please just ask me questions here! 😊

I just signed up and want to introduce myself. I'm new to all of this. But I am a facilitator at heart. I just didn't know it and I didn't know this was even a thing. 😊 I’ve always loved supporting people to live their potential, get to know and express themselves and thrive. I used to be vocal teacher and loved doing just that in that context, helping people find and use their voices. I’ve been a choir conductor, and bringing together all the voices and making sure everyone is heard and the singers breathe together and follow the same rhythm – that was amazing! I am often reminded of that time when reading about facilitating. After that I was an international product manager for musical instruments, which was super unexpected and particularly challenging for my imposter syndrome 😏, as I didn’t have any training whatsoever. I have a passion for psychology and therapy and recently have trained and worked with NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model™), an approach focusing on attachment, relational and developmental trauma. I am so curious about how all of these human experiences play out in workplaces and think about how we could be and work together in better ways if we had better understanding of ourselves and empathy for each other. Which is why I am so excited about having found facilitation. Maybe this is where it all comes together? Currently I’m leading a beautiful team at a publisher for childhood education. I think it’s pretty clear I'm a generalist 😄. I love seeing the big picture and then zooming in on what matters (and let someone else deal with that 🤭). And I look forward to diving into the Facilitation Fundamentals course! My impostor syndrome is already kicking and screaming 🙄, reading about all the accomplished facilitators on here throwing around buzzwords I've never heard of. But that’s okay, I’m a beginner and I look forward to learning!

I just finished the course and love the simplicity of the framework while opening up so many possibilities leading to a concrete solution🤯 Right now, I'm working in accounting at an HR tech startup. Before that, I looked into marketing and recruiting as a working student. But I'm actually a cultural anthropologist and museologist 😅 I love the remote deep work alone with my numbers and invoices, but have realized in a career coaching: What's missing in my life is a community of inspiring people to share ideas and experiences about something we get excited about. I just joined today, but to me the vibes here seem totally inspiring and respectful & facilitation seems to be the master solution to the problems of teams in the 21st century. So: I am happy to be here & happy to connect! I already have the feeling that facilitation is my next thing to do 🤔🚀

I'm excited to be here with y'all. I was a casualty of the recent layoffs at Yahoo, and I've spent the past 3 weeks putting some of the pieces back together...(sigh) it's a process. Finding this community has been an absolute bright spot for me! It feels SO good to be surrounded by like-minded people who are passionate and creative (remote work has me isolated like 😩). Back in 2018, I attended a full-day Sprint workshop hosted by Jake Knapp in Brooklyn, and realized quickly that there are near-infinite possibilities as a facilitator for solving problems, tailored to a specific goal. I've made it a focus in my career ever since, introducing so many of these frameworks to my teams over the past few years, to great success. I'm looking forward to learning from you all and adding as much value as I possibly can from my past experiences, and future discoveries. Cheers!

Hello from wonderfully overcast London, UK! 👋🏾 My name's LaYinka (la-yin-ka), and I'm new to the world of formal world of facilitation, despite having solid experience in education and coaching over the last 13 years. I love how my coaching skillset is transferrable in facilitation, and would say that I've often been facilitating without the formal label, and I'm looking forward to diving into the career path and becoming an amazing facilitator. My first port of call has been to enrol in Facilitator Fundamentals, which has been a great learning experience so far, and I plan to enrol on further courses with AJ&Smart once I'm done. For now, I'm learning, staying curious, and deepening my knowledge (aaaaaaaaaand busting thoughts of 'OMGoodnessssss, you're surrounded by so many ah-may-zing professionals in this space — what're you doing here?!'). I'd absolutely love tips for those of us starting out in facilitation. It does feel like I'm out of my depth. Looking forward to learning (from) and growing alongside you all!
