Just starting off here
Hello everyone I have been trying to navigate a career change that I have found to be very difficult. I am coming from Education and am now 4 years out of the classroom and haven't found the direction I wanted to go. I got a perfectly targeted ad on IG last month and was impressed with what I saw. Due to lots of thing have not been able to jump in head first but would like to get my feet wet. So the question is ... Where do I even start with the free content? What are your favorite books? Even here where do you even start? I am based in Minneapolis and would love to connect with anyone! Glad to be here

Hello from Colorado!
Hello fellow facilitators! I'm Martin, a Canadian hailing from Denver. I've been facilitating leadership development workshops for the last 15 years. I joined recently and I'm really glad to have found this community, as being a sole master facilitator in one's organization can be isolating sometimes. I look forward to exchange ideas, seek out collaboration opportunities and find ways to support the community! Cheers! 🏔️🇨🇦❄️

How to ramp up facilitation skills?
Hi, this question has probably asked already a couple of times. Started as a Software Engineer about 20 years ago, I became a Requirements Engineer about 12 years and then Product Owner and Project Manager or a combination of both. Now it's time for me to get out of the project rat race with all the controlling and processes and help people to improve their daily work by other means. In this role I was involved in a couple of workshops. The last time I've felt so much energy and intrinsic motivation in context of work, was at the beginning of my Product Owner career. Reading facilitation books in bed just before sleep tells me a lot. 😃 So, my plan is to learn more about facilitation in theory (books, podcasts, blogs, communities) but also in practice. My getting practice plan: 1. I've just started a first training, which my company was willing to pay. 2 I will look for facilitation opportunities in my company, so that it recognizes the value of this role beyond paying the training. 3. I will reach out to my private environment and offer my support (e.g. I have contact to a Christian Community, which sometimes does workshops). 4 I've startet to revitalise the Liberating Structures User Group in Hannover (Germany) to get practice. 5 I will try to get in touch with people, who have facilitation experiences and maybe there are options to attend as observer, hospitalize or even co-facilitate (in presence or remote). What do you think about the above ideas? What is your recommendation? What is the best starting point based on your experiences? Regards Stephan

Hi everyone I am new to this Group and feel privileged to be here. I have found my calling and assignment which is working with companies in the role of facilitating. I hope to be raising funds to actually attend the training with Jonathan which should be within the next month but in the meantime I am looking also for work experience or shadowing roles within the group for any businesses in London or Hertfordshire so that I can see how the design sprints works. This is such a fascinating industry. Soaking up all teachings and learning so much. Thank you Jonathan and your Team I cannot wait to study the course.
