Question Dan 🔥
So I am wrapping up my month one in my singing community 🎉 it took a hot minute to get it all function but I made it. It all seems to be working , I’m getting paid traffic at $2 a free member , members are joining my freemium singing group… the group is alive, im very hands on and live chit chatting with everyone , my question is … I’m curious to know for my first month what should roughly be my conversion to paid membership? I can imagine different industries might be alittle different and I was reading online conversion rates but because you know this world sooo well .. I would love to know your honest opinion 🤸 or anyone else in the group that is knowledgeable 🎙️
In person retreats
Hi @Dan Harrison and all! I fully get it why you don’t recommend running in person retreats if your business still doesn’t bring 10k recurrent revenue. I recently started my business (coming from academic background) and my community here and I want the core of my business to be the retreats (I run a Relationship Design School after all and it is about experiential learning and immersion). I am investing my own money from my previous business and ready to take a risk. What would be one way to mitigate the risk of not enough people signing up? What paralel projects would you recommend running to raise funds for the retreats? Thank you!

I run small singing retreats and yes it’s a lot of promoting especially when you do it organically But you can definitely run retreats on the cheaper side …

Huge thanks to @Dan Harrison and @Alexander VandeLaar for laying the ads challenge out so clearly. Launched early December. Haven’t changed a thing since. $15/day ad spend → averaging ~15 new members per day. The video ad is doing most of the heavy lifting. Right now I’m focused on engagement and conversion inside the group — but I’m starting to think ahead. For those who’ve scaled — did you increase budget on the same winning ad, duplicate it, or test a new angle first? Curious what’s worked best for you.

Personally I would increase budget , little by little Then if you have a bigger budget I would test new ads out also Dan mentions spending $100 a day .. and if you have a winning ad at $1 per free member .. this is very healthy sign Your $1 per person might change though …. Might go up
The Death of courses and Info Products ?? (And What Comes Next 👀)
I don’t see many saying this explicitly So I will. “Traditional info products and courses are dying…. If not already dead” Right now, I see brilliant coaches spending months building courses and modules for their skool community that live in someone's "someday" folder. Creating programs where 88% never make it past module two. Packaging expertise into videos and PDFs like it's 2020. And I totally get that. That's exactly what has worked for the last decade. Information = value. Knowledge = transformation. Except it doesn't anymore. Here's what I do see happening in skool: (And I am totally ok to be wrong here I’d love to have a conversation about this ) Great Coaches & teachers keep creating courses like it's 2020. But in the AI and GPTs era we can go beyond just transferring knowledge… we can learn by producing outcomes. GPT Co-pilots don't lecture, like traditional courses… They build the thing with your client. Right there in the session. And while many coaches and consultants are perfecting module seven, The experts who are going to win are using AI & GPT’s to deliver results in real time. If you are doing courses the old way, I believe… Your products will get harder to sell. You will fall behind. Now this is an AWESOME opportunity for those who embrace building their biz with Ai. Because the next 1-3 years belong to experiential learning with GPTs as co-pilots. Not courses. Not information dumps. Actual outcome-producing tools that develop skills while creating deliverables. They are easy to create. Just take everything you know and transform it into an AI-powered tool that creates what your clients paid for. Only 12% of people finish courses anyway. - So why explain copywriting when a GPT can co-write the sales page with them? - Why teach content strategy when a GPT can generate their calendar in the session? - Why deliver information when you can deliver transformation? The absolute best marketing you can create is client wins and client results and

As a vocal coach it will be interesting to see the way this industry shifts, I would still like to hold on to hope that people would like to buy into “real people” live sessions .. and not have to be talking to a bot 🤖 to come up with results … I personally buy into peoples personality these days … To be honest ai might be able to create songs, or create your pitch , but ai or robots can’t feel the sensations of placements of sound and vibration in your mouth and body ….. for people really wanting to improve I’ll hold on to hope that singing , learning how to sing nerds to be semi guided 😜
