How to sell your way through life
I've been thinking about the difference between coaches who make $30K–$100K a month and those who are broke. It's not strategy. It's not funnel design. It's not even their offer. It's usually comes down to a few core skills The primary skill being Sales. But not the kind you think. Not smooth lines. Not scripts. Not manipulation or tricks Because Real sales is much deeper than that. When you learn how to sell, I think that might be when you actually learn how to live. Here's what I mean: Sales isn't just a business skill. It's a life skill. The parts that make up REAL sales skills are: - Having a definite major aim - The ability to focus - Understanding autosuggestion - Qualities of character - The art of closing a sale - A pleasing personality - Persistence - Faith - Humility - The habit of doing more than you're paid to do - Applying the golden rule daily Look at that list. Those aren't sales tactics. They're identity principles. And when you build those into who you are, you don't just close deals. You build trust. You lead with integrity. You create demand. You also AI-proof your business and your life. Because AI can write copy. It can build funnels. It can automate sequences. But it can't connect like a human can It can't read energy. It can't hold space for transformation. It can’t build character for you… That's human work. And that's sales. Here's the truth most people don't want to hear: A lot of coaches avoid selling because it makes them uncomfortable. They'd rather get stuck in funnel-building tech hell than be vulnerable, risk rejection, and actually connect with another human. But that avoidance is what keeps them broke. Because the market doesn't reward complexity. It rewards clarity. And clarity comes from conversations. From understanding what people actually need. From being present enough to ask the right question at the right time. That's sales. So if you want to build a business that scales without burning you out...

Did you just cringe reading that? Maybe reading that just made you think of all the cringe worthy cold DM’s you’ve ever received and are now having a visceral body reaction to the thought of being like them or Maybe you just read that and are now hovering over the unsubscribe button and considering leaving the Private Practice Rebel Community for good… Well, before you bounce out of here... I invite you to read this entire post and then decide. I think many coaches and online service-based entrepreneurs have been sold a lie. And it brings me no joy to be the bearer of hard truths but… ❌ Sorry… You're not just one funnel away. ✅ Sure it sounds nice… ✅ build a funnel with all the cool automations… ✅ Run ads, Hire virtual assistants, send automated emails, never actually talk to a real human…. 💰 and then make millions of dollars… Coaching or any other Service based business just doesn't work this way. Business is, was and always will be a relationship game. and Russel Brunson, the founder of click funnels (which is the product he sells) is a master marketer and has made an entire industry of coaches, healers and helpers somehow believe that the thing they need most in order to be successful is a funnel. But you know what’s interesting about that… Some of the MOST successful coaches and therapists and healers that I know… don’t even have a website. Too many self employed professionals are spending WAY too much time trying to become funnel builders and graphic designers doing things outside their zone of genius when there is a major opportunity for them to simply lean into their fears of rejection, their tendencies to avoid intimacy and social anxieties of being with other humans. Funnels have become a way online entrepreneurs avoid dealing with their internal contents… that if looked at, unpacked, healed and transmuted would allow them to have deeper, more connected and meaningful relationships with all the people in their life… Not just their prospects and clients.

I got pretty upset at Bob Proctor on one of our Mastermind calls...
10 Years ago I joined my first high ticket mastermind, Life Success with Bob Proctor. I paid $15,000 and about 6 months into the program I was pissed. Because I was more broke than when I started, I thought his whole jam was a sham. I told myself I was showing up to the calls, reading the books, doing the work, starting my own mastermind groups... nothing was working and I blamed Bob. I wanted a refund. So I voiced my concerns to him on one of our calls... He just sat there... The silence felt like minutes... Then he asked me a simple question. Are you carrying your goal card on you? I immediately felt myself getting defensive and went into a story about all the things that I WAS doing in his program... He stopped me. That wasn’t my question. Have you written out your goal card and are you carrying it on you right now? I said no. Well how do you expect this program to work for you if you aren’t going to do the work as it is designed? Writing out your goal card was literally the very first step of this program... and you didn’t do it. You skipped over one of the most important pieces and now you are upset because it isn’t working? He was right. And as much as I did not want to admit it... I could see in that moment that I was blaming him, using a litany of excuses, wasn’t really being coachable, or doing the program as it was designed. I learned an incredibly valuable and humbling lesson on that day. Likely worth the entire $15,000 investment. This was the day I learned to to take 100% responsibility for my life and my results and stop blaming other people or circumstances. I took the coaching. I went home and wrote out my goal card. “I am so happy and grateful now that I earn $10,000 a month easily and effortlessly from multiple streams of income in increasing quantities” I stuck it in a plastic sleeve and carried it on my every day for the next 6 months. I did take the coaching but I still remember thinking this is so stupid... as if this is the reason why the program is not working...
