Arabiyat Prestige Marwa
Hey fellas, Thought I'd share my adventures with Marwa yesterday. I know I haven't posted much but I've been going through all the bottles I've acquired over the past couple of months and man, let me tell you. First off, to the Youtubers out there who say, "don't worry about maceration"...that's a damn lie. There is SUCH a huge difference in scent profile, projection, and longevity for these ME fragrances once they sit. Marwa is a prime example. I have others that have shifted as well that I'll be sharing experiences with in the future, too. Marwa is a LV Imagination dupe. I've never smelled the original so I can't say how it compares (I'd love to try the LV's given their popularity but I can't even find a decent decant at a reasonable price). I blind-bought this one on hype and when I first got it, I didn't know what to think. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. Here is the interesting bit, I bought it, let it sit for a couple of months...tried it once on an arm during that process and was still on the fence, and then finally yesterday decided to go all in and wear it in my "fragrance-free" office. I emphasize fragrance-free because that's what I was told but I was also almost knocked out by a woman wearing something Ariana Grande-like and realized it was BS. I'd been getting away with freshies every day and likely because they smell clean and unoffending I didn't hear anything. But smelling what I'm smelling on others I realized the "fragrance-free" nonsense is really just, "don't overspray Sauvage Elixir dummies" and you're fine...LOL. Anyways, Marwa is interesting to me. For starters, it starts and finishes very linear to me. I didn't catch much of the cinnamon though you sense it's there. The ginger and black tea were the most prominent notes and honestly all I smelled all-day from start-to-finish. At times it almost smelled like clean laundry on me but I wouldn't say it's straight Downy by any means. The kicker though, not only was it clean (and compliment-worthy from the wife), but it lasted all freaking day. I put it on about 5:30a before I left for work and after 5p when I got home...still could smell it on my arms and was even catching whiffs throughout the day.

@Edgar Mertins Id be interested to compare because I don’t get much of the spicier. I got something extra with Hawas Kobra but opted to keep this one because it was muted.

@Blake Merl absolutely. Crazy how much of a difference it makes. I have a couple of others I’ll review later that changed DRAMATICALLY after some time to sit.
Getting off my chest
I won't go into details and this is not to post to point fingers at individuals or put anyone in blast. I am not good with conveying my thoughts so here I will try. Also trying to be vague just to make a generalized comment. We all join this community for our own personal reasons, learn, teach, or just plane relax and enjoy the hobby. I am of the latter. I have a full time job with a fair amount of responsibilities and a business on the side in which small business depend on me. So BoS is my getaway. I like to read people's post, chime in whenever and a lot of you are the same way. Some of you are here to get educated and I am all for that too. I know some of you want BoS to be more than just a post and like board, a place of education to further the knowledge in the community and hold their own standards, but we can't expect everyone to adhere to those standards although some of us try. A part of education is also people having to have some accountable and do a search for information, be surprised on how much info is out there and has been repeated many times. For those who need or want the education, there has to be some some level of accountability for self education. I use the search function to look for my old posts, other people posts for info etc. I know this may be confusing for some since I didn't give any context, I do apologize for that, but again this is not to call people out, just a statement if we are all here for different reasons and be respectful of that.

Love this and agree with it. We all get what we need from this place but we can't always expect others to think/feel/react as we would want ourselves. The beauty of this is the uniqueness in all our journeys.
Honeyed Tobacco Oud by Habibi - Review
A fragrance where the honey actually smells pure. The tobacco is prominent but soft and inviting, not harsh like others. The oud is soft and you find yourself wondering if you're smelling honey, sweet tobacco or oud. Couldn't recommend this one more. Not a strong projector, on me about 90 minutes and didn’t get a response from anyone at PT this time, but lasts six to eight hours on skin and still wearing well on my sweater and that’s after a 15 minute fluff cycle in the dyer to remove dog hair. I’d add I think it’s blind buy safe. My original post is linked below: https://www.skool.com/bos/honeyed-tobacco-and-oud-habibi-new-york?p=6b36c516

I'm falling in love with Oud done well and the discovery kit is on my to-buy list. Glad this one smells amazing. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and try them!
SOTD: French Avenue Azzure Aoud
Final bottle sent over by @Eric Jones, thanks again bro! This one is a bit tricky for me. It opens up very nice with some passion fruit and other fruit notes. However this doesn’t last very long as it’s overpowered by saffron and is slightly harsh to my nose. Not bad but not the best. The mid is decent with oud and benzoin. Nothing spectacular to report lol. The dry down is probably the best part about the frag with sandalwood leather and vanilla which is nicely blended. It performs well and lasts a good amount of time. I know this is a dupe of Oud Maracuja but have never smelled the OG. I’ll give this one some time on the shelf to see if it grows on me.

Another one I couldn’t get past the opening. Too harsh for my nose. I even notice my tastes are evolving but this one I just couldn’t get on board with. Hopefully additional maceration helps it even out for you.
SOTD: Aromatix Royal Taboo
The 3rd gift from @Eric Jones. I’ve read this is an inspiration of Creed Centaurus which I have not smelled before. Let me know if that’s incorrect. It was a chilly 50 degrees this morning and the accords on this one looked like they would work. It starts off with a sweet spicy aspect from cinnamon and cardamom. It’s well blended and not overly sweet. The open lasted about 15 minutes before I started to pick up on some tobacco while the cinnamon still lingered. I don’t pick up much else in the mid as the tobacco and cinnamon run the show. About 2.5 hours in the vanilla and tonka showed up along with some woods. The cinnamon was still hanging around though giving it a vanilla cookie vibe. Projection for the first 3ish hours was excellent at about a 2-3 foot bubble. After that it died down to within arms length and is still lingering 6 hours later. I’ve wanted to dive into Aromatix for a while but kept putting it off. Now that they have the new releases and I have this bottle I might pick up a couple.

This one smelled great, but just felt redundant with everything else I’ve picked up. Got it on super sale at Jomashop which was nice. I quickly got to a point in my collecting where now I’m already picking up on redundancies so trying to diversify a bit. Hope you enjoy this one. 💪🏽
